Withholding judgement until I know the make and model of said car

So we aren’t giving cars to recruits and they resort to stealing them instead...

Playing by the rules has some disadvantages ...

The Oklahoma TE Herman brought in was selling X in the hallways of his high school. This Kid will be fine.

Will be interested to see full story on this. No idea where the carjacking info is coming from, there’s nothing about that on the booking summary.

( @Burt Macklin, between this writeup and Barron's, does IT ever think a corner commit will stick at CB?)

Was the whale in Moby Dick a white whale?  Not sure. But there is this famous line from this famous book...

Call Me Ishmael - Kindle edition by Olson, Charles. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

Also, and relatedly... Moby Dick now more like Mopey Dick (channeling Leon Black from Curb Your Enthusiasm)?

He better still be allowed to sign here.  Let the kid apologize, give him a lecture and let him ball out here

looks like only a $1500 bond.  Still no mention of carjacking.  If Baker Mayfield can evade arrest and win a Heisman, then Ishmael should be good to sign with Texas on NSD1!

Generally one would assume Ibraheem had to be doing something to warrant arrest (hence the subsequent evasion) but I wouldn't put it past a police officer to harass a young Black man unnecessarily

High school kids run from the police for dumb reasons all the time, but we might want to just wait until NSD2 to let this play out. Won't make a difference in the long run.

That’s actually a misconception about the charge, it encompasses “detention” as well. For example if a cop deems you suspicious & wants to stop and ask you a question, but you run away, you can be charged with “evading arrest” even though you initially committed no crime.

Pretty obvious there was no carjacking involved here. Very fucked up of whoever lied and started that rumor.

@satyanash did the research on the arresting officer who IIRC is aggy.

Not so much a matter of 'research', he's a well-known aggy homer. He was beergut on SBNation (he used to run the A&M blog but it was taken away from him because he would constantly go to other blogs to harass users). He was also /u/insidezone64 on Reddit CFB, and got his account suspended there as well. He also was Tag77 or Bocephus or something like that on TexAgs back in the day. Basically he's completely untrustworthy.

Well Mike Roach, who refers to himself as a “reporter” wrote it.  Not sure if he said where he got it.

Finally. We are getting some pipe hitting gangsters on defense. Some stone cold killers. Letsgooooo

The arresting officer is an Aggy blogger??

Actually, that might be his brother James now that I think about it.

I get them mixed up all the time, they're both equal parts redass and empty-headed.

I noted that as of last night, Ishmael is no longer in the Dallas County Jail.

With just $150 between him & freedom I’d be pretty shocked if he was still in there.

To be be fair, you can rob a bank and get a $1,000 bail in Dallas.

The rumor is that 2 of his friends stole a car. He was a passenger in the car when they got pulled over and fled. The judge assigned to his case is known to work with first time offenders.

As my dad always says, "Wrong place, wrong time."

Just asking...

He's definitely not signing tomorrow, whether he signs further down the road is TBD (to my knowledge)

I have had like 7 accounts perm banned from Reddit CFB. They have gotchya rules and can ban anyone at any time. The whole sub is an outrage circle jerk for gullible progressives. Texas fans hardly post anymore.

Wtf does that even mean?

It means he is proud of all the members of his 7 on 7 team who signed with colleges.  And then he forecasts that he, too, will be signing with a college soon.

Once it became clear it was more a case of having bad friends than being a malcontent himself, that was going to happen. Dude needs to drop those guys ASAP, though.

According to a pre-trial diversion agreement that Ibraheem signed last Friday, he'll have to report to his court every 30 days for a period of between 60 and 120 days, commit no new offenses in that time, submit to drug screening if necessary, and pay a pair of fines. And upon completion of the terms of the agreement the DA's office will dismiss the case against him and he will immediately be eligible for an expunction of that charge.

Basically what I expected would happen given that by all accounts he's never been a troublemaker, and given that the judge of the court his case was assigned to has a stated commitment to helping young, first-time offenders have their arrest records cleared upon meeting the conditions of pre-trial diversion agreements

Glad he'll be signing. He's the real deal.

I'm confident he will be our shutdown corner in about 2 seasons
