June 16, 20205 yr Popular Post Maybe you're getting negged because you ran with the lynching of a black man angle to start this thread when it's becoming obvious your assumption is not the case? Just spitballing here.

That is a shame, and I pray for him and his family. I will still keep this thread open though because of the two “suicides” in California that are very, very suspect. What have you done to be better?

June 16, 20205 yr I trust Art very little. But if he is wrong on this he is done. Unlike other things (like no knock raids) which can be controlled and the narrative set I’m not sure how the facts don’t come out on this apparent suicide if Art is lying. @Hugo Stiglitz you are the expert apparently. So please enlighten us. Or even better. Stop posting. Edited June 16, 20205 yr by Telegraph_it Spelling.
June 16, 20205 yr A black man hanging from a tree at should be presumed a murder until significant evidence indicates otherwise. I’m not sure why this is a hard logical assumption.

Per the interwebz, 1981 https://www.al.com/news/2018/04/last_lynching_in_america_shock.html I definitely think the James Byrd Jr. murder should be considered a lynching. That happened in 1998 in Jasper
June 16, 20205 yr Author The Houston one had been on social media all day. Everyone—black, white, Latin—was saying it was a Black person. From the video, they looked Black. We got information from Art that this person wasn’t and that they had suicidal tendencies. I’m fully here to admit that everything I saw was wrong, and that what I posted about the Houston one was wrong. That, however, does not mean what has happened in California can be ignored.
June 16, 20205 yr Author There have been a lot more “hangings” of Black males within the last 10 years that have just been officially declared suicides when the family knows that wasn’t the case. So yes, you’ll find the the last official lynching was in 1981, but that doesn’t mean that is the case. That is just per the justice dept.
June 16, 20205 yr Maybe Pancho learned a lesson to not regurgitate stuff he sees on social media as fact. Probably not. edit: After seeing his post above, definitely not Edited June 16, 20205 yr by TonyTexas

June 16, 20205 yr Popular Post I was at the scene about 90 minutes ago and it was grotesque. Flies buzzing around bloodstains on the ground beneath the tree...I never knew hanging was so bloody, but the reek of death still permeates my nostrils even though I was masked. Word was trickling through the crowd that this was a suicide of a Hispanic man but some people did not seem satisfied with that. It's like they wanted a lynching. I say this with neutrality but I warn in the words of CS Lewis: Quote "The real test is this. Suppose one reads a story of filthy atrocities in the paper. Then suppose that something turns up suggesting that the story might not be quite true, or not quite so bad as it was made out. Is one’s first feeling, 'Thank God, even they aren’t quite so bad as that,' or is it a feeling of disappointment, and even a determination to cling to the first story for the sheer pleasure of thinking your enemies are as bad as possible? If it is the second then it is, I am afraid, the first step in a process which, if followed to the end, will make us into devils. You see, one is beginning to wish that black was a little blacker. If we give that wish its head, later on we shall wish to see grey as black, and then to see white itself as black. Finally we shall insist on seeing everything — God and our friends and ourselves included — as bad, and not be able to stop doing it: we shall be fixed for ever in a universe of pure hatred." -- CS Lewis, Mere Christianity
