Non-linear narrative. Complete short term memory loss (retrograde amnesia). When in black and white  - chronological order. When in color - reverse chronological. They meet at the end.

Can someone explain Memento to me?

It's good the first time through. On a second viewing you notice all the plot holes.

I first got this movie as part of a ps4 deal I found on Craigslist a long time ago.  Loved it then kept watching it over and over and yea not what I thought

Yeah I get the basic (not caring about spoilers for a nearly 20 year old movie) he decided to forget and trick himself into killing his dirty cop buddy, but yeah lots of things missing.

Why/how did he get with Natalie in the first place?  Is his wife really dead? Is Sammy real or not?

He got with Natalie because he found a coaster in Jimmy’s jacket that said to meet her at the bar.

I also know this: Chris and Jonathan Nolan disagree about whether Leonard actually slept with Natalie.

you think I want another puzzle to solve?  another john g. to look for?  you’re a john g.  so you can be my john g.

How does he remember he has short term memory loss? I don't know if the Remember Sammy Jenkis thing is enough. But if that is a plot hole the whole movie falls apart, and it is a really fun movie, so I am not gonna harp on it.

over the years whenever thinking about the movie I have always called it “otnemem” in my head.  anyone else?

Plot holes or not, this movie is fucking great.

Agreed. One of my all-time favorite movies.

Don't believe his lies

Reminds me of all the cool movies of that era....Salton Sea, snatch, lock stock...all great except for boondocks saints and equilibrium which were terrible
