The guy is dumb AF. I really want to punch him in the face.

His actions are directly affecting military readiness in a very volatile time. It will only get exacerbated when we end up with a govt shutdown in a few weeks.

By "warrior" they mean a recalcitrant fool.

Alabama  might be projecting a tiny bit with the title, as he impedes the ability of true warriors to fulfil their duty.

It's deliberate bullshit that has zero to do with leading and guiding our country.  Fuck this guy and the morons who laud his antics.

Well, it’s important to remember that Senator Jugs has a different view of our governmental structure:

Our government wasn’t set up for one group to have all three branches of government — wasn’t set up that way,” Tuberville continued, saying incorrectly: “You know, the House, the Senate, and the executive.”

If so, it's too early and can be overcome, and risks Tuberville being kicked off one or more committees, thereby removing his value to Trump.

If Trump was involved in any way, it's just him lashing out because he's pissed off that the military didn't do his bidding.

If you've read other articles about Project 2025, you won't learn a lot new from this one. Still serves as a good reminder that the country is in deep doodoo if Trump is reelected. Here's a nonpaywall link to the WaPo story: https://archive.ph/bpplz

Also, y'all probably need to think about saying nicer things about the brilliant coach Tommy Tuberville, the next Vice President of the United States, serving under our glorious leader and president-for-life Donald Jenius Trump.

About fucking time

Senate Rules Cmte will consider legislation on Tuesday, November 14th "to allow the Senate to break through Senator Tuberville’s blockade of military nominations on the Senate floor."

I spent the weekend diving into the IRS Form 990's for the Tommy Tuberville Foundation after reading how so little of the money went to the mission of supporting veterans. I've been a veterans advocate for 10 yrs and seen a lot of these. Strap in for a long thread! #Alabama

For what they spent I figure they replaced roofs for 3-4 veterans. Not stated if said veterans were also suck-buddies of Tubs.

Tubs is saying he may sign off on a couple of people, but plans on blocking everybody else unless he gets what he wants.

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/11/07/politics/tuberville-pentagon-blockade-negotiations/index.html

Quote

Sen. Tommy Tuberville for the first time began to crack the door open to a deal that would lift his one-man blockade stalling more than 450 military nominees over his demand that the Pentagon eliminate its abortion policy.

But it’s still uncertain whether the issue will get resolved – and some of the new options the Alabama Republican is considering would likely prompt Democratic opposition. Tuberville said after an hour-long meeting with GOP senators Tuesday he would engage in talks with other Republican senators and a Pentagon official over the next day to see if a compromise can be reached.

Quote

Until then, he said, he’s not backing down.

“I’m still dug in,” Tuberville told CNN. “I’m standing up for the unborn,” he added, but he noted: “There’s going to have to be some give-and-take here as we go through this, because there’s 450 out there that haven’t had a promotion.”

#781

Literally fuck Tommy Tuberville, what a piece of shit.

VIDEO MONTAGE: Sen. Fetterman multiple reactions to Sen. Tuberville repeated objections to Sen. Kaine individual requests for military promotions ...

#782

What happens if he doesn’t show up one day, can they pass it through if he’s absent?

#783

And here I thought fetterman needed to resign because he couldn’t understand or communicate. Why would someone make that up?

Coach Pop says Tubs is an embarrassment to coaches:

https://www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs/article/popovich-rips-tuberville-blocking-military-18487101.php

Spoiler

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich blasted Sen. Tommy Tuberville, calling him a "silly, small man" for his nearly year-long protest of a Pentagon abortion policy, a blockade many believe is harming national security at a time when global conflicts abound.

"It's pretty bizarre," Popovich said. "Any reasonable human I would hope would agree with that comment."

Speaking to reporters before Sunday's game against Miami, Popovich took the former college football coach to task on Veterans Night at the Frost Bank Center.

"He gives coaches a bad name," Popovich said. "They're going to think we're all ignorant because what he's doing is ignorant. It's harmful."

Tuberville's unprecedented campaign to try to change Pentagon abortion policy by holding up hundreds of military nominations and promotions is  forcing inexperienced leaders into high-level jobs and raising concerns among military leaders about readiness and morale.

The Republican from Alabama wants the military to change its policy of reimbursing service members for travel to get reproductive care, including abortions.

"It makes no sense," Popovich said of Tuberville's stance, which has been criticized by top defense officials, Democrats and even some of his fellow Republican lawmakers. "And he really can't have any understanding of how important these flag officers are in all these different positions."

A graduate of the Air Force Academy who majored in Soviet studies, Popovich, 74, served the required five years of active duty in the Air Force, a stint that included serving at both domestic and overseas posts that operated spy satellites and monitored Soviet missile launches. He continued to serve in the Air Force Reserve until 1993, working his way up to the rank of major.

"It's been stated a million times about how it hurts our security, our national security," Popovich said of Tuberville's stance. "Well, it's really true, but I don't think he understands what that means."

Popovich questioned whether Tuberville is "auditioning" for a future beyond the Capitol Hill."The more he does it, as long as he's done this, I start to think, is he auditioning? Because a lot of those people in Congress these days are performance artists," Popovich said. "They're not there to legislate. They're not there to make the country better. They're there to be seen in their own minds. And it seems like he's auditioning for a job in case a certain person becomes president again.

"He's doing a great audition. That kind of thing is exactly what (GOP presidential nominee frontrunner Donald) Trump would love. The more of that, the better you're in his favor."

Popovich expressed doubt that Tuberville would eventually yield to pressure from his fellow Republicans.

"You look at it and you say, no, this is going to change," Popovich said. "His fellow legislatures or legislative people are going to say, 'Tommy, come on over here. Let me put my arm around you. Let me tell you exactly what's going on here. You're making a fool of yourself. You're hurting our country.' But they don't have the courage to do it because they care more about their positioning and being primaried someday and all that.

"...But you can just look at the look on his face. He looks like the cat who ate the canary. He's got a smirk on his face all the time. He's got something you can't have. So, that's why I say he gives coaches a bad name and he's hurting our country. He's a silly, small man."

imagining Popovich dealing with shitbag politicians is simultaneously disgusting( wasting his strengths) and highly entertaining.
