July 16, 20223 yr You think at some point Rivals might sit back and think “why is the guy we ranked the #1 interior OL in the country a backup plan for all major programs except desperate Texas A&M”?

Between the OL already on campus & the OL committed to the '23 class, UT has plenty of IOL. They don't have enough surefire OTs imo.

July 17, 20223 yr I don't get why McVay wouldn't be looked at as possible tackle. Yeah he's bigger now in HS but I think under a strength program could play tackle at his size. He plays tackle now and moves well.
July 17, 20223 yr Lol. Yeah a strategy of win real big and then flip recruits sounds swell. What does that timeline look like anyway? Finish off a 10-2 regular season at the end of November and then sit back and field calls over the next 2 weeks before early signing day starts? Spend 2 weeks begging guys to flip or at least not sign early?

I like Gerry, but like most 9.95ers, he thinks 98% of all lineman prospects are IOL. Some of these dudes are going to be tackles and be pretty good too.

Recruiting honks have pretty much all gotten sucked into thinking that not being an NFL tackle means they're not a college tackle. It's absurd. In a given recruiting class there are probably, what, 10-15 guys who will ever eventually get significant NFL playing time at tackle? There are 32 NFL teams pulling from 8-15 different recruiting classes for their 3 or so tackles. That's a population of around 100 guys in the world at any time who are NFL tackles. News flash, there are 260 first and second team tackles just in P5 at any given time. That's around 65 per class. If a guy is a high level college tackle and future NFL guard then he's a tackle for college recruiting purposes. These guys need to realize their subscriber base cares about college playing potential.
July 17, 20223 yr Let’s also stop looking at 7 second Twitter clips where a DE undercuts the OT in a way that would get him pancaked in a real game as a reason that a kid isn’t a OT.

Yea, if Damieon George can play RT at Bama for Kyle Flood, then McVay can probably do the same at Texas.

You think those people feel shame? Their entire worldview is built around mechanisms that prevent them from feeling shame or having any accountability. See Winning; We didn't lose, we just ran out of time. If Bisontis goes anywhere else it will be because of some kind of conspiracy or confluence of events that is completely outside of their control.
July 18, 20223 yr Loochi (probably): "There were many high end players from the Class of 23 who wanted an official visit to aggieland in July but the demand was so high that our amazing coaches simply ran out of time to fit them all in due to the NCAA's highly discriminatory and abusive calendar requirements. Ross Bjork is looking into it and is considering filing a lawsuit against the pathetic NCAA."

July 18, 20223 yr 19 minutes ago, Scholz said: According to what? Has the SEC ever said anything? No, just logically working it out. Texas is the premiere program and have rivalries with OU, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. LSU being a neighbor of Texas and not having a Texas rival for recruiting purposes would not go over well. Texas and LSU are tough programs so aggy’s 3rd rival has to be soft. Arkansas makes geographic sense but they might not want to give a program the recruiting advantage of 2 Texas rivals. If so, then Mizzou.
