It counts tonight, boys. We will see some crazy shit this season. Starts with these two...

NYY at Wash, Cole v. Scherzer, 6:00 Central, ESPN (O/U is 7.5, kinda surprised by this)

SFG at LAD, Cueto v. Kershaw, 9:00, ESPN

All 30-man rosters have to be finalized by 11 am Central. We’re already seeing some names that will strictly be around to run for a couple weeks; Terrance Gore for Dodgers, Emilio Bonifacio (out of MLB since ‘17) for Nats, Leody Taveras for Rangers.

All the teams’ broadcasters have to be loving life though, get to call all 60 from their home parks.

With this new “runner on 2nd” extra innings rule, could make a real difference having a burner out there.

I just have this feeling NY wins big tonight. 7-2 or something. Gonna kick off a great season, can’t wait.,

Hopefully just one of those residual readings from an infection that was no longer contagious, or just a false negative positive.

It will be a miracle if we get to the end of the season, but dammit, let's play ball!  Oh, and ...

He had a false negative from a saliva test done last Sunday.  That came back Tuesday and he got a swab test then.  It's my understanding that false positives on the swab tests are very rare.

And here we go.

Castro/Kendrick/Thames/Suzuki/Cabrera 3-7 ain’t exactly how they lined it up last year.

Ugh, it's gonna be like basketball before you know it.  (I can see why they're doing it this year, but I just hope it doesn't set a long-term precedent.)

I don't like watching baseball but I am very happy for the MLB to return.  Hopefully they can manage any outbreaks well and the other popular team sports leagues can learn lessons from this and the NBA plan next week.

Sounds pretty much done.

[Mariners fans]So you're telling me there's a chance.  [/]

But no, not really.  Unless that's 16 teams PER LEAGUE.

At the risk of being negged to oblivion have to ask if its a good idea for a team with a player who tested positive to play at all instead of isolating for two weeks?

Voit has lost way too much weight. He might suck until his body adjusts. Cole with the blemish early but he hasn’t entered “sucks” territory yet. I think he’ll settle in.
