The Braves mascot is sweeping the stands and brushing the cardboard cutouts behind home plate. Bits are fun.

I had forgotten how his salary got cut after the boar injury:

Quote

NEW YORK — Yoenis Céspedes' base salary next year was cut to $6 million from its original $29.5 million as part of an amended contract with the New York Mets that avoided a grievance hearing, according to details obtained by The Associated Press.

The oft-injured outfielder, however, would raise his pay to $20 million if he has 650 plate appearances.

Céspedes agreed to a $110 million, four-year contract in December 2016 but could lose as much at $29.6 million under the amended deal. He hasn't played since July 20, 2018, and has topped 321 plate appearances just once since 2015.

So, he's really only walking away from a couple of million.

Keyshawn looking solid in his debut.  5 innings 0 runs,, 3h, 6k’s, 0 bb.  Probably doesn’t come back out for the 6th.

Who the hell is Tyler Alexander?

He is a 26 year old left-handed pitcher for the Detroit Tigers that struck out all nine batters he faced in a recent contest against the Cincinnati Reds.

I looked him up since.  He's a TCU product from SLC.

Nothing in his minor league career makes him look like a strikeout pitcher, or a particularly interesting prospect.

Judge makes me rise. 468 foot bomb, clutch as fuck.

JV audio crew for ESPN tonight, Vasgersian's mic keeps peaking when he yells. Sounded pretty cool/dramatic on the Judge homer just now though, maybe it's on purpose.

A Rod comparing Judge to Tiger, Lebron, and Jordan was a bit much. Then again he's an idiot.
