Strange timing, he was arrested in Fort Worth on the day the Angels make their first appearance in Arlington. Surely he wasn't on the team plane?

Cards series vs the Cubs cancelled due to another positive test for a Cards player. Will be interesting to see how the league squares up the records. Cards will have played 5 games through this weekend, other teams will have played 17.

damn the Rays have some arms. if they could score 4 runs a game they'd be in the playoffs no doubt.

16 of 30 teams will make the playoffs, you know, and they're currently averaging 4.2 runs/game.

Marlins need to send the rest of the team out to the clubs and see if they can miss another week or so. That .875 winning percentage and no minimum games played to get in the playoffs rule could have them sitting pretty. Such a strange year. Teams with 15 games played and teams with 5 at this point.

But hey, at least he does funny voices during in-game interviews.

just saw this on MLBN. wow. he's been bad for awhile now, but this is something spectacular. it's one of those rare times where Joe Baseball Fan can say, "I could do better than that" and actually be right.

Friend of mine in Lincoln who owns a memorabilia shop went to Joba Chamberlain's home foreclosure sale. Apparently Joba bailed on the house with everything still inside and the bank took it over and changed the locks, so they're auctioning his shit off today:

The ballpark went completely silent as head athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk, manager Derek Shelton and medical personnel tended to Evans.

No shit?

All four guys who homered were batting under .200.

i had this on in the background but wasn't paying attention. so THAT was why the announcers were making such a big deal about "poor Cueto" when that happened. brutal.

Just heard Ron Darling on TBS say the Marlins are playing their 10th game today and Pablo Lopez today is their first pitcher to start a 2nd game.

Plesac last month.

Quote

"Definitely any time you can maintain social distancing is going to be what we have to focus on,'' Plesac said July 3. "There are common sense situations, where you see things are packed or going out to the bars and drinking, doing stuff like that isn't stuff that's really important to us right now and shouldn't be important to us right now.

"We're given this privilege to be able to come back and play and given this short window to even play. It's a good time now just to really buckle down and focus on what's important and work toward something greater at the end of the season and, for these couple months, lock in and focus on what we have set for us at the end of the year.''

Runs given up by the Indians in each game this year:

0, 3, 2, 3, 3, 4, 0, 4, 3, 3, 3,  2, 0, 0, 2.

They are currently in 7th place in the AL, and are losing at home to the White Sox 3-2 in the 8th inning.  As a team they are slugging below .300. oof.

Acuna is my favorite player that doesn't play for my favorite team.

3 homers today albeit in 7 inning doubleheaders

Still Jose Ramirez for me, but yeah. Acuna is also on my short list with guys like Luis Robert, Tatis Jr, and Josh Hader.

Stanton is done for the season with a hamstring injury. He made it to 3 homers, or 30% of my original season-long prediction of 10. Fucking 3. He really is my least-favorite yankee ever at this point, he’s far surpassed Jayson Nix. What a useless fucking pussy. I’m so goddamn pissed. Cashman got 4D fucked by Jeter on that trade. Unbelievable.
