This is just sad. Part of me wants the season to be canceled.

Me too, but only because the Yankees are ridiculously good and I think it would be hilarious.

eh, they have one starter. they’re better than us right now, that’s for sure. we can’t hit or stay healthy in the pen.

They do seem to be just going through the motions. Or are they? This shit without people in the stands is bizarre and creepy.

Pitchers obviously needed more time to be ready for this season.  They’re dropping like flies.

It takes a very strict regime to get the human arm to handle the kind of abuse MLB pitchers put their arms through.  None of them got to go through their normal process of getting their arms ready for the season.

All that is true but it doesn't have much to do with Soroka rupturing his Achilles running to cover 1st.

But his Achilles would have had more stamina from at least another week of PFPs!

If he was trying to look like a teenage girl who got braids on her first visit to Cancun, he nailed it.

So I presume Pressley is the new closer?  Is he even healthy?
Do you even Fernando Rodney bro?

We're on the alternate channel again tonight. Better hope the game is over before midnight.

The top two teams in issuing bases on balls...

don’t bet on it

edit: check that. Mariners and Pirates have moved ahead... but they've also played more games

aaaand this is where we are:

”The Astros make their second stop on this 9-game road trip in Arizona where they’ll take on the Diamondbacks in some middle of the week action. Diamondbacks veteran, Madison Bumgarner will take on the Astros lights out rookie bullpen.

It's been a like a week, and outside of Taylor, none of the other rookies who will remain in the pen (Framber and Javier will both be at least tandem starters in the near future) have been "lights out."  If there have been any pleasent surprises this season on the pitching side, it's that the idea of an LMJ/Greinke/Urquidy/Javier/Valdez rotation is a more appetizing option today than it would have been entering the season.

Dbacks have sucked at hitting this season....they are batting under .200 as a team and i think like ranked 27th in the league

We are like 6th  at .255 and that is with our top 3 sucking for the majority of the season so far.

we are first in OBP and the Dbacks are next to last.   They are also last in SLG and OPS.

We need to fuck these dudes up

Just shut him down and save him for 2021 lol.  What this season is doing to the careers of quite a few pitchers should be the second biggest story of this season besides the COVID shenanigans.

Brantley dealing with a quad injury. Taylor unavailable for an undisclosed reason. This is getting stupid. I’m glad the playoffs were expanded because we’re going to need one of those extra spots.

Are you not looking forward to the Dawson, Straw and Tucker outfield next year?

Or maybe this is all part of Click’s long game to ensure our next crop of major league contributors continue their development in 2020 while minor leaguers for the other 29 teams sit on their ass and get fat.

1) home field means nothing this year.

2) while we’re still going to win the west, suppose we don’t, there is no way in hell 8 out of the other 14 teams in the AL will have a better record than this team

3) assuming no JV, we’re much more likely to beat the Yankees in a 3 or 5 game series than 7 if we end up against them in round 1 or 2.
