October 9Oct 9 The only thing Tibbets said postgame was that Satou was not in the locker room when they went back after the game ended. If she can't play Friday, moving Bonner into the starting lineup, I think, won't have a big impact positively or negatively. But their bench is now much smaller. 6 of the 8 Phoenix players played 25+ minutes, while only 4 of the 10 (9 if you don't count Stokes, who just played the final 0.3 seconds) played 25+ minutes.

I don't know what to feel about substitution stuff like that anymore after the Fever could have made the Finals over LV.

Kind of crazy that the Storm took LV to 3 and Indy took LV to 5 (and OT in game 5!), but Phoenix is likely going to go winless in the finals against LV unless they salvage a game on Friday (so that LV can actually win it all in front of their fans, since they won 2022 and 23 on the road). Phoenix has had 2 close, but no cigar, losses so far - AT's blown FTs in game 1 and DB's missed jumper that could have sent game 3 to OT after a furious comeback. But it was always a bad matchup - Phoenix's guards just cannot do what Indy's guards did all game against the LV guards and they don't have a big enough body inside to handle A'ja. You've said it, the only thing that has seemingly kept Phoenix in game 1 and 3 is whatever the fuck LV thinks they're doing at the end of games offensively.

I am seriously loving the games either way. A lot goes into coaching besides the shit that is "obvious" to point out. I think there is a lot that Becky does behind the scenes that makes up for whatever the fuck her staff and team does to close games. Phoenix is a really good team. I feel for AT. She's a great fucking player. She just isn't as good as this girl.
October 9Oct 9 AT seems mindfucked a little There was a specific play she basically had an uncontested lane to the basket and DB had to yell at her to move her ass and go score Also coaching - Tibbets not calling a TO to draw up a play to score a go-ahead bucket, versus Becky calling one with 5 seconds left to make sure the ball got to A'ja at the end of the game. I think after break the announcers highlighted that one. A'Ja is just too good and she has some absolute fucking DOGS around her. And this isn't Becky's first rodeo.

Yeah, she isnt playing like she normally does. Almost gunshy to go into the lane against A'ja. She is used to being able to barrel down the lane but A'ja takes that bump and can still block her shot.

October 10Oct 10 No Sabally and LV is only -2.5 tonight Guessing Vegas thinks Phoenix salvages a game at home to avoid the sweep and LV will be a big favorite on Sunday to close it out Perhaps LV half asses it tonight knowing they’re up 3-0 and headed back to Vegas for Sunday. But I don’t think Becky is like that

They dont need to tempt an injury that could change the whole series

October 15Oct 15 First coaching opening has been filled - Portland Fire accidentally (?) leaked Alex Sarama as their head coach. Portland is leaky af lol Annie Costabile of Front Office Sports reported Tuesday that Portland "mistakenly shared" the news that Sarama would be the head coach on its LinkedIn page before deleting it. Costabile then spoke to multiple sources who confirmed the plan is to make an official announcement after a contract is finalized. This is not the first time something like this has happened, as Costabile noted the Fire team name was prematurely leaked in trademark files in June.
October 26Oct 26 https://apnews.com/article/raman-storm-wnba-9d0863c6ab51227146f9d3a6cd4330f6 New York assistant Sonia Raman has agreed to a deal to become the head coach of the Seattle Storm, a person familiar with the hire told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity on Friday because no official announcement has been made. Raman was an assistant with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies for four years before coming to the New York Liberty this past season. She’ll make history as the first person of Indian descent to be a head coach in the WNBA. Seattle fired coach Noelle Quinn last month after the Storm were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the playoffs. ESPN was the first to report the hire. With this hire, New York is the only team still without a head coach. The Liberty didn’t renew Sandy Brondello’s contract after Ne w York lost in the opening round to Phoenix. Raman was up for the New York job as well.
October 31Oct 31 Those are a bunch of bad faith comparisons. At no point does she present profit vs loss.
