In fact, the new CBA deal should be called "The Big Beautiful Caitlin Clark Agreement" or some other naming convention that memorialized CC's contribution to the explosion of the WNBA. It would be accurate and funny. I actually came to this thread to check in on the dildo shenanigans but see nothing new there. I guess the hardline the league took (complete with criminal charges) seems to be an effective deterent.

August 16Aug 16 I see that K. Plum went on the Sue Bird podcast to clarify her “joke” that was directed at “Team Clark” after the all star game. Saying it was a bad joke and that it was just because Clark and her team were hungover, and I reckon that’s why they were not at the aforementioned meeting which I guess led to the Pay Us What You Owe Us shirts

August 19Aug 19 And this is why I'm not worried about expansion "watering down" the talent level. They have two players who should be top 5 in Most Improved with Veronica Burton and Kayla Thornton. They just needed a chance for bigger roles. There are a lot more like them that will pop for the next expansion teams. The overall success of the Valkyries is an outlier for sure so I dont expect the new teams to do this well but I'm not worried that they wont be able to find good players. Now I just wish they would do something about their uniforms. They're fucking terrible.
August 20Aug 20 Another great game between the Liberty and Lynx. 66-60 Liberty at the end of the 3Q. If these two matched up again in the Finals I would be ok with 7 of these.

One so-so on Griner and one pretty clear and obvious foul that even Carolyn Peck was like WTF Aces turned it around in the 4th after falling behind 67-57 with 8:44 to go - the point I went to bed. Looks like a nice 17-5 run to end the game, with A'ja getting 10 of those 17 points (5 for Lloyd and 2 for Young). 8 straight for LV

Looks like a nice 17-5 run to end the game, with A'ja getting 10 of those 17 points (5 for Lloyd and 2 for Young). 8 straight for LV I had it on in the background until the 4Q. I was wondering why the 3Q was taking so long. There was a challenge in the 4Q that took them fucking ages, too. W games usually fly by but the refs could be better at the monitor. A'ja should win her 4th MVP imo - and I'm not sure it should be close. She's a fucking animal on both sides of the ball and has been dragging what is kind of a meh Aces team further and further up the standings. Collier is having a nice season but A'ja has played 6 more games at this point - 32 vs. 26 - and Collier hasn't played since August 2nd. Collier is a +18 per 100 possessions on the floor but off the floor Minny is still +6 per 100. A'ja is a +9 per 100 possessions on the floor and off the floor LV is a fucking -21 per 100. Those are Jokic numbers.

Especially when she's won 3 of the last 5 MVPs. Voter fatigue sucks but its real. They've wanted to give it to Phee from the start of the season. Now with her out and MIN still playing very well the gap is closing.

August 21Aug 21 Did they even win? How can a team with her be so damn bad- why is the roster the way it is?

While there was some luck involved with the lottery, they were in the lottery because they were one of the worst teams in the league last yr. Adding one great player wasnt going to change that.

Just saying Citron is a guard too and having a GREAT season. Bueckers is the choice but its closer than most will say. Especially if the Mystics manage to make the playoffs and the Wings stay with single digit wins Quote She remains the favorite for WNBA Rookie of the Year, though Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron’s wildly consistent play has thrust her into the conversation. (Citron is putting together an elite rookie season of her own, averaging 15.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.1 steals, while shooting 46.6% from the field and 41.3% from three.)
August 23Aug 23 Watching this Wings/Storm game. Malonga is going to be really good. Her combo of size, skill, and agility is truly special. The Storm has some very versatile defenders so they can switch against Paige on PnR opps and still end up with a very good defender on her. When they blutz her they have the athleticism to rotate and recover so others arent getting good looks either. They are doing a really good job defending her tonight
August 23Aug 23 Paige ended with 11 pts on 2/7 and 0 assists. Great defense by the Storm. Storm is going to be a tough team to deal with in the playoffs.

August 25Aug 25 2 hours ago, Hiphopopotamos said: I mean, NBA players don't want them either. I'm sure players in both leagues don't want a lot of things. That's why CBAs exist. The point is that you don't get all of your demands met every time it's up for renegotation - it's a push and pull. Especially when you are asking for a huge increase in pay - whether it's overdue or deserved or not. Either way there's a way to go about these things and condescendingly bitching about your job every time there's a mic in front of you isn't going to win you fan support or sympathy.
