Heheh.. really?

Did you watch the interview with the deceased?

Dumb ass was spoiling for a chance to fire his weapon.

That's abundantly clear in the interview.

Again, I won't speculate as to what happened but to assume dipshit #1 didn't fire his weapon is a very illogical leap based on what we all know.

As long as you're not speculating.....

No pedestrians in street no instigation.

No cops murdering people no pedestrians in the street. You could go all day with that logic. You have to look at what specifically happened.

Did the driver deliberately try to break up the protest with his car and start a fight, gun at the ready? He should be locked up for murder. Or was he trying to make a turn and got surrounded by protestors, one of which aggressively approached his car with a visible firearm? Driver should go free in that case.

Heheh.. I'm just gonna cut and paste.

The bias is that your note above not so subtly suggests the driver had motive and his turn was intentional. We don't know that for a fact. Maybe he was drunk and stupid, or just on his phone trying to hook up on tinder, or watching porn or posting about being a SJW for BLM on Facebook or trying to score weed.

But you know for a fact that every single person there who witnessed it is unreliable simply because they were BLM protesters, without knowing anything about them.

Neon, let's not lose sight of the fact that these posters believe that jaywalking is justification for driving your car into a crowd (whether intentionally or unintentionally).

You are not going to have a reasonable conversation with these people. They are happy about what happened. They can hardly contain it.

he could have been doing all of them....multitasking!

The protestors started walking first. Absolutely. Now you must prove to me how people walking instigated a car running a red light into a crowd of people?

Catch here is you actually must prove first that the driver did so with intention. Don’t believe you can.

BurntEyes is the biggest hypocrite on this board, always is and always will be. Preaches kindness & caring for fellow man but he once told me to kill myself because I proved him wrong on something. Says we shouldn’t speculate about shooters motivations, but fills his posts will all sorts of speculation about Foster & the protestors. He’s a waste of time to engage with.

that court case has nothing to do with some random asshole telling you that "you can't pass down some place you have the right to be because I say so"

if you are going to attempt to make that claim then surely you are also in favor of people in neighborhoods telling those they do not like the look of that they cannot travel the public roads and sidewalks in that neighborhood because they have decided they can say that and enforce it?

or does only one side get to infringe on others rights like that.....even if they know absolutely nothing about those they are infringing on the rights of

when you are out and armed and looking to randomly infringe on others rights then you get what you get and no one should try and spin it where the person that gave you what you were looking for was in the wrong because they should have accepted the illegal and wrongful behavior of others and given in to their violation of civil rights (laughably in the name of defending civil rights)

Do you believe the driver was justified in making the right turn into the pedestrians? I’m not asking about motive. The physical act of making the right turn into a street that is filled with pedestrians? Do you believe that is a justifiable action?

Explain to me how a car turns without a person intending it to turn?

I have no idea what you're even trying to dispute in my original post.

Out engagement here is going in a pointless circle that I'm not interested in continuing.

Have a good nice one and be safe out there.

My point is that you refused to acknowledge the fact that multiple witnesses said that the driver fired at the victim point blank and that the victim never fired a shot. Yet you were oh so quick to defend the driver under the guise of not trusting eyewitness testimony because they're all BLM protesters. There were multiple people on the street and multiple people around the car and you think they wouldn't be able to reliably tell if an AK 47 was fired or not? From less than fifteen feet?

Explain to me how a car turns without a person intending it to turn?

You know what I meant. Prove how the driver had intention to hit/harm the protesters with his turn. Better?

I have no idea if he intended to harm the protestors. I believe no reasonable person (like on a jury) would decide that turn was safe and or made with reasonable care to avoid harming others as required under Texas state law.

You're right.

If a drunk unintentionally hit a family that was jaywalking, they would have deserved it and the drunk wouldn't have faced charges.

Better? Some of you may have to pretend the family is white. Do what you need to do.

For all of you protestors out there, please don’t ever swarm a vehicle during a protest or riot. Frankly, it’s surprising this doesn’t happen more often.

Carry on. Driver in this case wasn’t charged with DUI so I feel safe assuming he wasn’t drunk. Had he been drunk then I’d more apt to understand your point. At this point I don’t so I’ll move along.

The point is that the driver's intent doesn't matter. Jaywalking doesn't make it okay to drive your vehicle into a crowd whether or not you did it intentionally or negligently.

Why is everyone okay with a guy turning into a crowd of people? Take motive out of it. Take intent out of it. Someone please explain to me why you believe a car has the right to drive into a crowd of people?

Dude had a quadruple amputee girlfriend. Stay home and enjoy that on a Saturday night for fuck's sake. There are guys on this site that would kill to have 5 minutes with such a woman.

the people are not crossing the street, they are walking down the middle of the street across the intersection.  he turns right but you can't tell from the video if he was stopped at first before the light.  he sees an opening to turn right.  there is one guy that is kind of close and he backs away. the car stops pretty soon after turning probably because he saw a lot more people and then gets surrounded and a guy with a gun comes up very close to the car.

its also a fairly dispersed group(not packed sidewalk to sidewalk) at night and around a corner.  I could see him thinking I can make the turn now and then he sees more people.

he could be a KKK guy looking for trouble with BLM or he could just be a CHL guy going home from a bar.

regardless the city needs to get this shit under control.  either block off streets from traffic for protesters or tell protesters where they can protest and be safe.  Isn't there a park around there they can set up for a big protest?

It’s not nearly as controversial as it would be if the deceased was black. It would be on the front page of every newspaper in the country.

yes

because they were not "pedestrians" they were protesters illegally blocking a roadway

that does not mean anyone has the rights to hit them with a car or try and intimidate them with a car, but so far there are no claims anyone at all was with with a car and if you want to run around in the middle of the street (with some armed people) breaking the law while trying to block random people then you really do not have any right to complain if someone else decides to challenge you and your perceived authority to do so

these were not people "jaywalking" as some want to pretend because jaywalking involves WALKING across the street not blocking it for an indeterminate amount of time and if you feel you have the right to do that and then someone else comes along and challenges that.....well tough shit if someone ends up hurt

if you feel you have the right to ignore the laws and infringe on others freedoms while breaking the law and you feel that mob rule makes you in the right then you get what you get when you face off with another mob that has a different set of rules in mind....all the more so when they are simply looking to drive down a road instead of blocking it and impeding others from doing the same

if your answer to being upset about something is to scream fuck off you can't do something you are legally allowed to do and I am going to stop you from doing that to show you I am in charge and my opinions matter more than your rights.....well then when you get that attitude back and it hurts or kills you then tough shit next time don;t be such a fucking pussy and step up and defend your beliefs with more power

but so far based on the lack of charges it looks as though the "jaywalkers" were in fact lawbreakers (though this could change)

Yeah I wish I could beleive that. This guy just seems actually that stupid. Asking strangers to donate for... what exactly? I mean I'm all for his friends and family helping out his fiance but he kind of dug his grave here.

Then again, people that ask for donations undeservedly and GoFundMe in general piss me off so maybe I'm just being an asshole.

Those type of fatigues have draw straps on the side so you can cinch them up, if they are already cinched up, poor pants.

These aren't mutually exclusive, you know?

Anyways, trying to catch up. Have they released the suspect's name? Did I read correctly that he was already released?

Per Manley on KLBJ around 5pm during a presser both shooters have been released.

It is a war for people's hearts and minds right now.  Social media is the battleground.  Whoever wrote that tweet knew what they were doing.  It's essentially propaganda, or maybe psyop is a more appropriate term.

From the NY Times article, one of the protesters said the City of Austin wouldn’t let them march in the streets.  It appears they were marching without permit or public safety measures.

“They don’t let us march in the streets anymore, so I got to practice some of our rights,” Mr. Foster told the journalist, Hiram Gilberto Garcia, who was broadcasting the interview live on Periscope. “If I use it against the cops, I’m dead,” he conceded.

Question for you CHL types out there: what do you do with your gun when you are driving? Are you still "wearing" it? Is it in the dash? Under the seat?

I'm a gun noob and genuinely curious on how people transport their weapons in certain situations.
