August 20, 20205 yr First 10 fixtures are pretty brutal. Not sure I like starting w/ Leeds, which is a potential banana peel. Chelsea have a bunch of new players to fit into their squad, so I guess getting them early isn't a bad thing, but then Arsenal, Bitters away, City away, and Leicester makes for a pretty tough first quarter of the season.
August 20, 20205 yr Don't know when the CL/FAC games ar, but on the surface I like it. Sept - promoted team, two good teams, but breaking in new players Oct - Sheffield/everton, but overall pretty good Nov - We have to play City sometime, Leicester will be good, but only three games. Dec/Jan - pretty tame over the holiday period(12/26-1/2), not terrible Feb - Playing City/Leicester back to back again lol? everton/Sheffield make it congested Mar - sparse, but Wolves/Chelse April - overall decent May- have manu, but the last four look tasty at the moment.
August 20, 20205 yr We'll have the target on our backs for sure. It's all going to be tough. I'm curious if there will be fans at Anfield for any of those early games.
August 20, 20205 yr Tough start but like mentioned best to get Chelsea before they get new guys all on same page.It looks worse on paper than it is...arsenal,chelsea,toffees,city in first 8 games but it's better than playing them all after they get a few games to gel
August 20, 20205 yr The last time we played the Championship winner to start the EPL season we won the league.......
August 20, 20205 yr Dejan Lovren: Yes, I deliberately hit Ramos with the elbow during the Spain and Croatia game, because he deliberately injured my friend Salah in the Champions League final, so it is time to pay the price for what he did. Niiiiiiice

Might have a new keeper. Ironically it's kind of better for us to see you early. We might be dropping some early games anyway.

August 21, 20205 yr Ox injured his knee again and will miss the rest of preseason and possibly some of the regular season. Sigh.

I'm guessing we'd rather lose him on a free next year than sell him for what, £15M?, this year. Even if we get Thiago we would still keep Gini, I think. Klopp slowly beds in his players and in this era where it takes upwards of 95+ points to win the league, you simply can't afford a slow start.
August 21, 20205 yr Author Gini is worth way more than £15m. He started 35 of 38 league games for a record setting EPL team. Also ruins people when he plays for his national team.

But just like Thiago is worth way more than £30M, his value takes a huge hit with just a year left on his contract.
August 22, 20205 yr Bobby nets one early. New kits look pretty good. The camera angle on this match is no bueno.
August 22, 20205 yr Keita nets one. 2-0 now. Ready for this half to be over and for Klopp to turn over the roster. Pitch has already taken out two Stuttgart players.
August 22, 20205 yr Author Nice to have such a healthy squad right now. Klopp’s starting 11 was a message for 19-20 that we’re ready to go. Seems like such a short summer break but with no national team games it was probably the longest summer break a lot of these guys have had in years.

August 24, 20205 yr Kid got his home jersey in the mail Saturday. Nice looking and good feel, thought they looked good on the pitch Saturday. Got the lesser expensive one, thought we'd lose the stuck on badge/etc. on the more expensive one and glad we did. Still pretty pricey.
August 25, 20205 yr Bad giveaway by Fabinho leads to a Salzburg early goal. Supporters in the stands, albeit not many.
August 25, 20205 yr Can watch but no sound because the kid is in school right beneath the TV. Mom already out the kibosh on that. Not that sharp early on.
August 25, 20205 yr ouch, how soon does Trent get back? My first look seems like VVD has a couple of questions to answer. If we're looking at him and VVD, I'm ok with that.
August 25, 20205 yr Alisson bounced it off his head into the goal. Yeah, not the best start. Salzburg are all over us. Edited August 25, 20205 yr by mdmost
August 25, 20205 yr Echo saying it was Gomez with the bad pass in the leadup. Didn't see that in the replay they showed
August 25, 20205 yr It's worth our starting D giving up two goals to see Brewster get two nice goals and making a statement. Make your mark Rhian!
August 25, 20205 yr The question with Brewster is whether or not he can contribute enough goals to justify his inclusion in the team, since he does little else besides finish. I realize that's a little harsh, and obviously goals win you points, but Klopp is so demanding of his players' overall contribution; I could see him going out on loan again, even though he's done about as much as someone can to prove his worth.

August 25, 20205 yr Author All Aguero does is score goals and he’s one of the top 15 players in EPL history.

So did Alan Shearer and I'm skeptical Klopp would've played him in his side. I'm not at all against keeping Brewster around and I hope he scores goals for fun. I just could see the reasoning behind loaning him out again, especially if he's not seeing the field much.

August 25, 20205 yr I'd like to keep him around and see how he does off the bench, especially with domestic cup work. If he's not contributing, loan him out at midseason. A good goal scoring option off the bench would be just fine for me.

Right now, what else does Origi/Shaqiri offer? If we could replace Origi with Brewster and get some transfer money, that's a win IMO.
