So has Texas. Consider that when Helm committed Texas was coming off an 8-5 season, in which we had a four-game stretch in which we lost to TCU, Iowa State, and Baylor. Four years later this kid is catching balls all over Michigan Stadium against the defending national champions as the University of Texas romps. Can any of have imagined this scenario when we were posting titty gifs?

I’d like to imagine a scenario of more titty gifs.

73rd ranked TE in the country balling out on the big stage.

And will be one of the first TEs off the board if he keeps this up. Nice to finally have player development.

Gunnar was solid last year, this season he may be one of the best TE's in the nation. He was certainly better than Michigans touted TE...forgot his name.

When the opposing team's first round lock is literally handing you the ball, you're probably going to win the football game

Gunnar was on Finebaum this afternoon on my drive home. Did really well for himself.

Paawwlll did ask about being recruited by Bama prior to deciding on Texas, then lo and behold both his position coach and Sark arrive on the UT campus.

Hook’em!!!

Was he very articulate?

Both of his grandfathers played college football. One at Iowa and one in Colorado. Kid was raised right and it’s showing up. Happy for him and the how it helps this team.

Helm was key to getting Quinn going today. He has been amazing this year. Playing himself into being a top 5 TE in the NFL Draft.

Probably the outstanding player of the game - maybe Bolden.

I feel like I had something to do with him coming to Texas. The state of Colorado had 3 or so highly ranked TEs and we were striking out on some of the bigger names around the country, so I mention him as having the requisite size and athleticism to a graduate coach who I know and then I mentioned him on the Surly and the rest is history.

Yet another story of an under rated guy playing behind a star, continuing to put in the work, DEVELOPING, and delivering at the highest level when he gets his chance. Gunnar get a new job working on Sundays.

A nice solid TE to seal the edge. Wish he was more of a receiver, but a legit TE prospect regardless

Chris Doring, on “Full Ride” (SXM 84) as a guest this AM, named Helm as one of his favorite players to watch in the remainder of SEC play.

I don't think he's dropped a pass all season. He's the best TE we've had since David Thomas. He's a beast. He can do it all.

I got jumped on during the summer for saying he would be better than JT Sanders. Well, he’s better.

He's miles better than Sandes.  Blockes, doesn't drop a single pass. Dude is unreal real. He's David Thomas level, and may be better. Zero dropped passes is insane, especially when you see a duck, he still manages to come down with it.

Next up is Nick Townsend, who is a freak of nature.

Gunnar Helm is a great example of the development side at UT paying off in a big way. He was actually the lowest-ranked (non-punter) recruit in Texas' 2021 class, rated as the 73rd best TE in the nation that year. He's turned into a key piece in an explosive offense with a… https://t.co/8F2nwxOPKH

Watch the OL DL on this play. They were completely lost at what we were doing to them. Quinn under center, ball is snapped, and they are moving laterally with no upfield movement. Completely lost. Sark had them in chaos.

Tap the brakes. He’s the best TE since JT, who was the best since JMike, both of whom were better than Thomas. And I love all 4.

He's far better than JT, who couldn't block, but had great hands. JMike was awesome, I'll give you that.

You know who would have been great if injury didn't happen? Blaine Irby
