July 31, 20205 yr I need to find an outstanding Middle Eastern restaurant in Houston. There has to be one right. This is needed in order to secure some Lebanese bush that misses her mom's cooking.
July 31, 20205 yr https://www.houstoniamag.com/eat-and-drink/2019/01/middle-eastern-food-houston-med-center-almeda-road Also a fan of Istanbul Grill & Deli I haven't been in years, but used to enjoy Mary'z Mediterranean Cuisine
August 2, 20205 yr Lebanese - Cafe Lili Persian - Kasra, Caspian Cafe Palestinian - Al Aseel Shwarma - Arpis Deli, (Phoenicia)
August 2, 20205 yr Haven't been in years, but I always like Abdullah's on Hilcroft when I worked near by. The beef kabob, chicken, and lamb shank are great, and I loved their rice. Edited August 2, 20205 yr by Seasick Sailor
August 27, 20205 yr For Persian food, Kasra is best bang for your buck, but more of a lunch place. Caspian is a better choice for dinner.

For entrees, I'd say either get the Sultani (one skewer ground beef, one skewer filet) Jujeh (Cornish Hen), or lamb shank. With sour cherry or barberry rice.

I just ordered the Sultani with barberry rice.
January 10, 20214 yr Kasra was good. Certainly different. I really liked the humus. I drizzled some of the kabobs, and it worked out pretty well.
October 18, 20232 yr I feel like this thread needs more love. Go to for solid food and ease because of multiple locations is Fadi’s. I also liked Abdallah’s but it’s been a long time since I have eaten there. If you find yourself out in the Cypress/Klein area, Zamani is good no frills kind of place with an import market. For Persian, I like Darband Shishkabob.

Zamani is good stuff, chicken schwarma platter is what I usually go with Edited November 18, 20232 yr by tx ind If you get it to go, call them up it will be a few bucks cheaper than ordering online
December 25, 20232 yr Any good rotisserie chicken places? Also any Hallal Guys alternatives would be welcome. I keep giving them chances, and I keep having bad meals there.
December 25, 20231 yr Regarding Halal Guys, you must be talking about the one on Westheimer near Kirkwood. There’s no way they’re ALL that bad When you say rotisserie, do you mean shwarma? If so, have you been to Arpi’s around the corner from Phoenicia Market? It’s pretty good. They have chicken, beef and lamb shwarma and a lot of other things served cafeteria style. Arpi is the tiny lady often seen behind the counter. She and her husband own Phoenicia. I love that store.

I’ve been really wanting to try Gourmandize Mediterranean Grill food truck at 2829 Chimney Rock. Their instructions agram looks pretty amazing. https://www.instagram.com/gourmandizehtx?igsh=OHVqcDUyOTZmY3R2Edit:Not exactly what you were asking for, but they have grilled wings.
December 25, 20231 yr Nando's just opened in the old Berryhill location on Post Oak @ San Felipe. Just go straight up to the hottest sauce level. Grilled rather than rotisserie. Not sure there's rotisserie places around much anymore (rip Great Charcoal Chicken Company)Been meaning to get to gourmandize as well, maybe next Saturday after dropping some electronics for recycling.

To keep this on topic, my dentist swears by We're Dough on Westheimer just east of Hillcroft, but I haven't made it myself yet.

Mean Grille - new spot at corner of Weslayan and Richmond (former Thai Cottage location). I’ve had their falafel wrap a couple of times and it is terrific. Edited February 10, 20241 yr by Tonesky

February 10, 20241 yr Is Palestinian (no CR) rotisserie chicken a made up Curb Your Enthusiasm thing, or is it actually a cuisine?
