There are far too many gifted voices out there to pick one, but the guest vocal on this ancient Fats Waller track always makes my toes curl. Think her name is Kay Perry (no, she didn't have blue hair, but she probably is @Armybrat's great-granddaughter).

No clue if the old lady pictured is her.

I know there are other more classic examples like Aretha or Whitney Houston, but Dolores O'Riordan is an all timer for my taste. Beautiful voice that felt visceral, aggressive, and feminine all at once. RIP.

Dolores is a great example. Her vocal makes ever Cranberries song, and is the kind where I'm just not interested in hearing anyone else do it. I'm not shitting on it because it was a live performance (not a studio recorded cover released commercially) but people were sharing Miley Cyrus covering Zombie a couple of years ago and... yeah fine performance but the magic comes from Dolores. RIP indeed.

Googled "Cranberries live" and this video I've never seen before popped up. She's fucking great. The emotional range, the ways she uses her voice. Perfect example

Alison Moyet -- surprises me she hasn't had more of a career

It will also surprise a lot of people that the lead singer of Yaz, was in fact her. Great voice.
