^^^^One of the best posts ever!!!

If it keeps playing so much harder in the afternoon/evening it’ll be interesting Sunday to see if someone can post a score early and hang on.

On 18th, In the rough right of green in 2... Spieth needs no worse than 5 (bogey) to make the cut.... 🙏🙏🙏

Edit: CBS golfcast, shows 6ft 5" putt for par attempt for Jordan

Par putt slides by, but sinks bogey putt and makes the cut... 🎉🎉🎉

3 birdies, and 1 bogey today.... 68

+1 after 2 Rds

Edited by LTtxfan

How the fuck do you watch Rose and Johnson go right of the green and then you do the same damn thing?  Damnit Jordan, then after the shot he says to himself, just hit it left. Well no shit.

  • JT barely makes the cut too... +1
  • Tiger at Even
  • Rory at -1

Hope CBS does a better job of broadening the coverage this Weekend...

Besides Koepka, Berger, Fleetwood, DJ and Schauffele there's a lot of lesser known players higher up the Leader Board right now. Might be someone at -3 or -4 that shoots a low round Saturday and really gets in the mix for Sunday...

I expect to see Day, Rose,  Li  and Lorenzo-Vera to fall back tomorrow...

Two Longhorns at -3... Scheffler & Frittelli

After 2 Rds,  this is the 5th hardest course in a Major to to hit the fairways... Scrambling and lucky lies will play heavily in who wins this PGA Championship.

With course firming up, Saturday and Sunday could be brutal...

I can't believe JT and Jordan shoot the same scores to get there

I might pay to see a Brooks/Bryson match, with them both mike'd up

i had to laugh when they kept showing him on the range yesterday.  you've had 3 years of suck and you think you can fix it with a range session?

Where else would one fix that in hopes of playing well at your current event? It’s his job, that’s what he does.

Fyi... ESPN+ live coverage just started, and JT and Spieth are getting feature coverage this morning.

Hope they both play well today...

10:40 am CDT -- Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas

Spieth misses #1 fairway right by 5yds

JT misses left 15yds

Jordan with the sweet bogey-bogey start.

Starting to question Spieth staying with current coach... Jordan's mental approach has regressed substantially

DAMN this SUCKS!!!  Too many mental mistakes.

Spieth needs to aim at center of greens for the remainder of the round...

Edited by LTtxfan

JT is 3 under through 5. Jordan is 3 over through 5. Come on. 6 stroke difference. That’s about right. Their games are worlds apart at this point.

Hit the green in regulation + make a few bombs = rounds under par

After 6 holes:

  • Spieth 4 bogeys
  • JT with 4 birdies

Feel bad for Jordan -- he's really lost his game

Dude... he's sucked for awhile. I feel bad for people that keep expecting him to play better. I mean I think he still will eventually, but it really sucks when one of your guys just falls off the map. Take it from a big Rory fan that's waiting for another major.

Oh I agree... I'm a big fan of Spieth so watching at times is BRUTAL

Rory is all over the map too along with poor Rickie

Who do y'all like heading into the weekend? I don't see Li winning. In fact I would put a large sum of money on him not.

Have to like Brooks. I like Fleetwood too.

Something seems wrong with Brooks, physically. He’s tight and getting stretched out mid round. I feel like it has to take its toll over the weekend.

I like Justin Rose to win. And I want to see Berger in the mix.

Rory is much more consistent week in and week out. He just can’t get it going in majors.

I don't think Rose or Day hold up this weekend.

I'm pulling for Berger, DJ or JT

Yeah, here's Rory's biggest problem...

No he’s not. Since the restart his best finish is T11 and of the other 4 finishes the best result is T32. He’s consistently average. He hasnt won this year, and I can’t imagine how he’s still ranked 3 in the world.

Id take everyone in the Top 17 over him right now.

I mean yeah his current form is poor but it's a 2 year ranking. He won a Players, Tour Championship and WGC in calendar 2019.

28 minutes ago, Dr. Beeper said:

Yeah he’s playing off last year. He’s not far off from Jordan right now.

I'm not sure what you're trying to argue. There's a reason it's a 2 year ranking. Yes, they have similar results in their past 5/6 outings - but the difference is that those 5 tournaments have been a very poor stretch of play for Rory and a pretty expected one for Spieth. Their baselines are not remotely comparable.

Spieth's biggest problem right now is...

Playing angry and immature...

I wasn’t trying to argue with YOU. I agree on WHY he has a 3 ranking. It is not deserved and 4thand5 said he was consistent in nonmajors. Well, not really.

I agree baselines aren’t comparable, but Rory is trending significantly downwards. Over the last 3 months their games are extremely similar.

Their results are similar. I don"t think their games are similar. At all, really. Just look at betting odds. Rory is a threat to win on any given week. Jordan is not and hasn't been in a very long time.

5 events is a very small sample size to claim they are playing similar golf. It just takes one week for someone to get back to good form.
