College Football Teams Hit Hardest by Players Opting Out

DAVID KENYON         SEPTEMBER 2, 2020

#7 TEXAS

Texas hoped for a breakout season from Marqez Bimage, but the explosive pass-rusher won't be on the field this fall.

Bimage is the most notable of three absences for the Longhorns. Yes, he only has 19 career tackles. Nevertheless, Bimage entered 2020 with fairly high expectations as a potential starter in a new defense that better suited his athleticism.

Running back Daniel Young collected 526 yards from scrimmage as a true freshman in 2017 but totaled only 61 touches the last two seasons. Young probably trailed Keaontay Ingram, Roschon Johnson and Bijan Robinson on the depth chart.

Willie Tyler, a redshirt sophomore, would at least have competed for a backup role on the offensive line.

This guy won't be at Stanford in 2021... (FUCKIN WAREHIME !!!)

Another Buckeye opts out:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — With the chances of the Big Ten Conference playing a football season slipping away, two of Ohio State's best players have chosen to opt out and start preparing for the NFL draft.

Cornerback Shaun Wade, a preseason All-American and likely first-round pick in the 2021 draft, announced his decision Monday on Twitter, saying the Big Ten waited too long to decide what to do about playing. Wyatt Davis, an offensive guard who is another potential first-round pick, announced his decision on Friday.

In a bizarre turn of events, ESPN is reporting that Trevor Lawrence is apparently calling his shot at immortality and has already declared for the NFL draft...in 18,180 years.

Given Sark's position, should this thread be retitled, "Quitting & Declaring"?

Late Monday night, Alabama’s versatile player Joshua McMillon announced his intentions to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.

McMillon has been apart of the Crimson Tide since 2015 when he was recruited as a middle linebacker. After a few seasons of waiting McMillon was due to have his first shot at significant playing time in 2019, but unfortunately suffered a knee injury which ended his season before it began.

But instead of giving up McMillon returned to Alabama in 2020, utilizing his medically granted sixth year and was an important piece to the team’s offense.

After it was clear that he wouldn’t be able to break through on the defensive end, McMillon took on the role of the team’s fullback and thrived with many big physical blocks for running back Najee Harris.

Something borderline “historic” occurred on May 20. For the first time at the high school level, a big named, blue-chip recruit opted out of their senior season to prepare for college football.

Five-star running back Jaydon Blue announced his decision last Thursday, saying he will focus on his academics and off-the-field training before enrolling in January. According to a report, the decision was clearly communicated with Steve Sarkisian and his staff.
