I'm a big fan of Sassy Smurf. I hope she sticks around.

If you're talking about Juno Temple... yes, please.

It’s just the right tone for right now.  Everything is so dreary and hateful out there I think everyone wants something thoughtful and happy.

Remember when we could laugh at simple things?

Ellie Taylor as per the interwebs

No, I was talking about the best friend of the owner that Ted called Sassy Smurf. Although, obviously I'm not turning down Juno Temple either.

You got pretty close there.

Yeah, my scenario was kinda weirdly playing out, but Sassy is the wrench in the works...

And could Ted’s wife be more anxious to get the divorce papers signed? Chill, bitch.

Coach Beard is one of the unsung delights of this show, he and Ted’s obscure, the-only-two-people-in-the-world-will-get-this connections are fun (kinda like J.D. and Turk in Lawrence’s Scrubs). Singing Lady Gaga was unexpected yet totally on brand.

This is Emmy/Golden Globe worthy. Which I didn't expect. And yet every Friday morning for the past several weeks the wife and I start the day by figuring out when we are going to watch Ted Lasso.

Owner will find out about Ted and Sassy Smurf and go back to trying to destroy the team.

Agree. This show has perfect tone right now.

Spot on

That went a different direction than expected.

Definite curve ball on that ending. Knew the matchup game was gonna be happening but yeah that ending was an “oh shit” moment

Something really perfect about the winning dart scene and him quoting Whitman.

"I forgot I was left-handed."

what a wonderful surprise. this is a truly great series. i have no idea how it works but it just does. the cast, the writing, the execution are all brilliant. funny, heart warming and breaking at the same time. just a wonderful series. if you havent started it, do it. its worth your time.

Lol I told my wife be hit’em with the “Inigo Montoya/Dread Pirate Roberts”

Just an all around great show.

I watched Thursday night/Friday morning when it's added at midnight.

I think Bill Lawrence might deserve some credit for how well this show flows.

Binged this yesterday, solid show. Apple hasn't but out a ton of content so far, but what they have done has been solid and has been backed by some big names.

so how does Jamie Tartt return to AFC Richmond?

something is going to happen in the last match against Man City.  Richmond will either draw or win to avoid relegation.  Jamie gonna shank a PK on purpose? doubt it.  but something wonky has to happen in that game.

The wife and I were talking about that, they don’t really ever show gameplay so it might involve some sideline activity between Roy, Jaime and Lasso or it might be pre-game or halftime antics. Jaime still absolutely blames Lasso for his loan callback and Roy has really bought into Lasso’s mission.

I could see Jaime losing his cool and picking up a red against lasso or Roy, giving Richmond a chance to avoid relegation.

I can't believe this show is good. But I love it.  Dart scene was great.

Casting pulled her straight out of the Big Book of British Smiles.

It is.  Didn't finish first episode

Another solid episode. Originally thought it was just 8, but I guess it must be 10 episodes.

Keeley is surprisingly funny. Higgins too. Every character is so well done.

Been meaning to start this, and couldn’t sleep last night so I ended up binging the whole thing.
very nicely thought out. I assume they get relegated, and next season they do well enough in L1 to get back.

I think Roy comes in and does something to keep them from getting relegated. There still has to be some fallout from the one night with Sassy.

Nah, Roy will come in off the bench and win the game.

(Brew just beat me to it.)

They can't get relegated, because then their American fans won't be able to follow what's going on. "We're playing Manchester United this week" makes sense to everyone, because we all recognize that name and know they're good. If they say, "We're playing Reading this week" it will lead to a lot of confusion. Plus, if they get relegated they won't be able to qualify for the Champion's League next season when Ted finally figures out how to really coach soccer.

Was a nice reality check from coach to Ted about how winning matters.

I loved that part.

It started humorous and ended properly regarding boys learning a lesson vs men’s livelihood when up against relegation

Coach beard is like the most interesting man in the world.
My favorite was how he set himself up for and then delivered the doc brown line.

My son recommended this series. Even said he would pay for a year of Apple TV + so I could watch it. Plus - it’s almost my birthday. I bought a new Apple TV and got a free year of Plus included. So I watched Ted Lasso. Great cast and acting, great story and it makes you feel so good, plus I now want to go back to England so badly. I loved it. Highly recommend.

Ted’s drugging those daily biscuits, right?

Did I get ya?

That was a great ending. So stupid, but in line with the theme of the whole season.

I've actually seen Ted Lasso for President signs in a few yards.  That's got to be some kind of promotional thing, unless there are some really dedicated Ted Lasso fans.

Great ending. I was hoping they would stay but I get the storyline

Season 2 can’t get here soon enough.

Not as funny as Scrubs but still really good.  Can’t wait for next season

Perfect ending. I would have been fine either way but glad they got sent down as it opens up more story lines, characters, and options for season 2. I can only assume Roy joins the coaching staff next season.

They were talking this show up on another forum.  I can't believe it's good.  The trailers, and the whole concept, seem so stupid.  Guess I'll have to give it a go.
