I just got my new subscription of “Texas Highways.”  And there’s a piece in there about Linklater’s new movie (coming out in 2021), called “Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Adventure.” It’s about a boy (largely autobiographical), growing up in the Houston suburbs, in the late ‘60’s.
The entire movie is shot on green screen.

Interesting, I had no idea.  I’ve always enjoyed Linklater’s mind.

Anyway, if anyone knows more I’d like to hear about it.

All green screen, eh?

Please step away from Robert Rodriguez.

Yeah.  I would really rather it be shot normally.  Just regarding the content.

Its currently in the process of being rotoscoped... so green screen doesnt really matter

Will hit theatres late next year iirc

Saw this on Netflix. Didn’t know about it until I saw it was on a top ten list of best movies in 2022.

Brings back memories of growing up in 60s and early 70s no matter the location.

Realistic representations of Houston had quite a year with this and Mo.

Thank goodness they didn’t get cute with Mo and try to film it in LA with stock exterior shoots in Houston. It’s a decent show. The subject matter isn’t my favorite, but it feels authentic because they film in Houston.

Linklater’s attention to detail in Apollo 10 1/2 is incredible. I remember getting that Galveston tar shit all over my feet and my dad having to rinse it off with paint thinner.

I hope there’s a season 2 of Mo
