Ben Cross, the actor best known to one generation for playing a determined runner in the 1981 Academy Award-winning film “Chariots of Fire” and to another audience decades later for his role in a reboot of “Star Trek,” died on Tuesday at a hospital in Vienna. He was 72.

Damn good movie, imo. One of the few movies that treated religion with respect.

RIP

I hated that song.

GREAT movie, yes.  BTW that theme agreeably isn't much to listen to say in your den, but as an accompaniment to the movie, it was spectacular.  Vangelis didn't win the Oscar for best score for nothing.

Saw this.  That's too young.  Really enjoyed that flick as a kid and he's had a quietly successful career since.

His first role was in A Bridge Too Far.  Briefly seen in this memorable scene, in the background at about 2:10 and 3:10
