Also I regret to inform you that actually all of the texmex in Austin is inedible. You must have missed the memo here. You're better off eating Korean-Thai-LGBTQ-BBQ-fusion out of a trailer behind a bar that requires a password to enter for $30 a person. I've been out in Bastrop for a bit now and have grown fond of an establishment called Guadalajara. Mainly for the margs but the food doesn't suck. I'll do the 3 cheese enchiladas and post a pic here next time I'm there. Highly recommend if y'all are ever in the area.

No idea if that place still exists, it’s been 25 years at least, but they had great tortillas.

February 13Feb 13 Popular Post freida's enchiladas at texas chili parlor. had been a while, still delicious.
February 14Feb 14 Think a couple of the places mentioned in this thread have went belly up, but here's some 6 year old recommendations.
February 18Feb 18 These next several days are perfect some good cheese enchiladas with rice and beans.

Nada. Am I looking g in the wrong place?
February 22Feb 22 There some tiny tray of cheese enchiladas with rice and beans in the meal simple section. Every once in a while I take a look but at $9 or $10 that's a hard sell. Per the app there's a 4 pack tray, supply your own rice and beans. But by then it's creeping up to restaurant pricing, having already left taco cobano behind.

June 16Jun 16 Popular Post Demanded cheese enchiladas as my Father’s Day meal. American cheese inside, cheddar on top, fresh onions. Magnifico.
July 26Jul 26 Popular Post Wife is out of town with my daughter, son is at Grand Lake with friends, and the dogs and I are holding down the homestead. Cheese enchiladas were calling for me but I didn’t want to cook a batch by myself. Y Mas is seven hour drive, praying that Chili Parlor stays in business, and the golden memory of Dart Bowl is fleeting. It’s been a while since I hit El Rancho Grande on 11th Street in Tulsa (open since 1953) as last time was a little off. With that said, they were on point tonight with the finest plate of old school Texas Mex cheese enchiladas I’ve had since eating in a bowling alley on Grover Ave. Ladies and gentlemen, the Night Hawk plate (I inquired if name had anything to do with Nighthawk in Austin and waiter had no idea). Onions were inside the tortillas but next time I’m requesting more on top.
August 3Aug 3 Popular Post Beef enchiladas topped with cheese, and cheese enchiladas topped with beef. Rob Walsh’s recipe is simply the best.

September 4Sep 4 When the gravy is on point, still hard to be Maudie’s perfecto. The bartender that keeps asking me if I want beef, chicken or cheese when I order perfecto makes me shake my head though. Good guy otherwise.
September 4Sep 4 Maudie's is like Schroedinger's texmex restaurant in that I feel like it is always somehow both over and underrated. Part of it is probably some consistency issues - especially across locations. Even on a personal level I have had pretty bad meals there and I have had amazing meals there and thought at various points that their food was either pretty crappy or actually pretty damn good.
September 4Sep 4 These days I almost always go to the Lake Austin one but I’ve had many, many Tio Chon Enchilada plates there and at 360 over the years and it’s always really damn good. Only a few more weeks and I’ll be back for a football game and definitely a meal at Maudie’s.
September 4Sep 4 Lake Austin and S. Lamar are the only ones I trust. Milagro is hit or miss and Bee Cave is trash. Edited September 4Sep 4 by 4th&Five
September 5Sep 5 I only order perfecto there. No rice no beans. Extra white onion on side. It comes down to whether the gravy is on point that particular day.
September 5Sep 5 Maudies on Lake Austin Blvd. Rest are pretenders (s Lamar has too many bad days) Edited September 5Sep 5 by ChickenSandwich
September 5Sep 5 The North Lamar one was awesome when I lived up there. RIP. 27 minutes ago, Anastasis said: I only order perfecto there. No rice no beans. Extra white onion on side. September 5Sep 5 Unpopular Opinion but I don't like the raw onion on my cheese enchiladas....sometimes the onion is just too strong.

Just want a plate of cheese enchiladas and a Gils, and I don't particularly care for the rice and beans.
September 5Sep 5 I always go double beans and then have lunch the next day (much to my wife's chagrin).

Get the HEB heat and eat.
