Maybe this goes in the stupid ? thread, but can you run a VPN while inside another VPN?  In matters of dire importance, my work VPN blocks some fantasy football sites and I want to see if using another VPN would allow me view those.

thoughts?  Insults?  kickass solutions?

Why not just disconnect from the work VPN while browsing the "fantasy" sites?

it's an option.  I can also just switch over to the home dt without too much trouble, but looking for something seamless if possible

Short answer is yes - VPN chaining is a thing, but not going to be ideal for your needs as would require second box (or virtualbox) that you could just as easily view those sites from...

Going to be much easier to use a second device not on work VPN to view such sites

So you want to use a personal vpn on your work computer? I would think that's a BIG no-no on company policy.

Technically you should be able to use it. It would depend on if you have administrator rights to install the VPN. It's basically a tunnel (your private vpn) inside another tunnel (work vpn). All of your IP traffic will be obfuscated from your network IT department which should trigger HUGE red flags. But then again it depends on how savvy your internal IT department is. But I know in the three large companies that I worked for, I would get an immediate call from IT and my boss. It's probably a fireable offense.

But if it's your computer, then your company probably doesn't have much say.

IMO if you like your job, the risk isn't worth it. At the very minimum, your company would know that you are doing shit that you're not supposed to be doing and probably compromising IT security in the process.

Use a different computer.
As others have said, a private vpn on a corporate device raises red flags at a minimum and could be a fireable offense in some organizations.

Just use your damn phone for FF.  Do not under any circumstances use your work laptop for anything other than work.

message received, but i don't want to use my phone to look at a bunch of data and stats, hence the query.  Was trying to be efficient, well OK lazy and not take the 45 seconds to switch out the monitor for my desktop.
