Just got back to 78729 from 78749. North side of town has definitely had it heavier than south of about 2222.

In the 58. Had to clear a solid 2 inches off my car just now.

Switched to just snow now. Not really much accumulating yet. My 5 year old and 2 year old are very exited.

Its collecting big time where im at in 31

Yeah, it piled up. Kids had a pretty epic snowball fight with the neighbor kids. Well, epic for CenTex.

Hasn't stopped in 78753. Actually coming down harder now.

Temps look like they’ll stay above freezing during Sunday.  Assuming that bodes well for keeping the roads open?  Figure if the ground doesn’t get too cold then it won’t stick enough to totally upend the city

Already idiots driving 20 mph. There is zero ice on the road. Roads are probably wetter and more dangerous in a summer thunderstorm.

It is 31f in my back yard (78717) - snow let up for a few minutes and has resumed...

Back/secondary roads here (Bee Cave/Lakeway) are all slipperying up.  This is gonna be a "DO NOT DRIVE" situation from now until tomorrow a.m.  Main roads are still just wet but they'll change, but the secondary roads are quickly getting slushy/icy.  Freezing now in many parts of ATX and will just hold there or get colder.

I'm an old hand at snow driving and I'll just say stay off the roads now unless you have a Demolition Derby Special - or want one.

We have a real winter storm, I can see 3-6 inches in ATX areas in some parts.

Yeah I’m just being selfish.  Kids were home for 2.5 weeks recently so would prefer not another home day tomorrow.

Yeah it is definitely getting colder. Driving conditions were fine when I was out just now but I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Did you yell at the snow to get off your lawn?

Did you yell at the snow to get off your lawn?

Maybe not Brat, but a lotta folks on Nextdoor are torn....they WOULD yell that....but it’s white. What to do?

Nice snow fall in the Triple 6. starting to stick. Might have to go for a walk.

Snow starting to stick to the road in front of my house.  Gonna be in the 20s tonight.  Might have a snow day or late start tomorrow

This is a serious snow and accumulation now in western Travis County.

Same here. Loud enough to startle the dogs.

are you in austin? where are you seeing that? google says it won’t get below 34 overnight.

My backyard in Bee cave - where always snows.

I don't see why most of us won't get at least 4"-6" or more. Biggest storm since I think 2014 or even earlier.

Trying to improvise sledding equipment with the kids right now. Might be riding coolers down the golf course in a few.

Coming down big time in CP now...roads are getting covered.  Assuming at least RRISD will be at least a late start tomorrow

Believe from the above photo he's near the site of the Mt Carmel Cookout in 1993.

Seeing snow through your kids eyes makes it so much better

Good amount building up in 78754. Lost my satellite TV signal, too much snow on my dish.

7 inches of snow in Lubbock. Still coming down pretty hard.

About to take out my 20 year old Tacoma with 4WD. So glad I bought this little truck as a side peice.

Just nuts in South Austin. Wasn’t expecting to get much more than a dusting this far south.

Wunderground and WC seem to think this will switch to rain in a few hours.  Thoughts from phd or anyone else?

That was the original forecast. I think they didn’t expect it to be this cold this far south.

'56 still getting it.  We've already brought the kids inside, got them warmed up/dried off, etc., and I'm wondering if in another there'll be a lot more snow.

I keep expecting it to turn into rain.

Yeah, going on 5 hours of snow, here. Forecast looks like it turns to rain in about an hour or so, but who knows?

Still coming down in Hyde Park.  Dark Sky says it won't get below freezing at all until Tuesday after midnight though.  So... @phdhorn?

My old jackass has a nice warm stall but prefers to stand out in the snow.

More of a DUMBass, amirite?

How many people have died in the great Blizzard of '21 so far?

Power has been out for about 45 minutes.

How does a few inches of snow knock the power out?

I’d guess either jackasses driving into power poles, or tree limbs weighted down messing up the lines.

Brownwood is a good ways north and west of here, no?  Seems like they'd see snow somewhat often.
