His son Terry said it was pancreatic cancer, that really sucks.  Glad Bobby is in good spirits during this all, he is a great guy and wish him the best on his remaining days.  Thanks Bobby for building FSU, we would be nothing without you.

When FSU had little talent or clout Bobby bootstrapped the program into national pos rep by scheduling road games against powerhouses and eventually winning most of them on and off campus. Good on yer and hope the afterlife is good for you.

In 1981 they went through a gauntlet Bowden coined Octoberfest; they played at Ohio State, at Notre Dame, at Pitt, and at LSU all back to back.  They won most of those games, just lost to Dan Marino Pitt. Crazy to think FSU had schedules like that 40 years ago.
