September 8, 20205 yr I don't have Taco Cobana to fall back on here. Del Taco is somehow actually worse than Taco Bell. So this hits close to home. I actually do love me a drunken Mexican Pizza every 5 or 6 months. And the only thing my kids like there are shredded chicken tacos/burritos. I guess we'll be eating more Arby's. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/03/business/taco-bell-new-menu/index.html

September 8, 20205 yr Popular Post The Chilito says hi I have also been a decades long fan of the Mexican Pizza from the Bell. Will definitely go get one before they disappear. [csb] in college (30ish years ago) one night at half time of a game at the Erwin Center my buddy hit a half court shot and the prize was a $100 taco bell gift certificate. After the game 4 of us went to Taco Bell. When we found out that the gift certificate was a "use it all at once" type deal we were undaunted. This was in the time of the 49 cent tacos, 59 cent bean burritos and 89 cent chilitos. We finished it all but I didn't shit right for a month. My normal Taco Bell intake probably cut in half immediately after that night and I bet I've gone less than 1x per year for the last 25 years. [/csb]

At least that was the case the last time I made the questionable decision to hit a Taco Bell, which admittedly was many moons ago.
September 8, 20205 yr It was always about the shell, the sauce was terrible and they could never understand "no tomatoes" ... I'm sad too, but haven't eaten TB in a couple years, so fuck em.
September 9, 20205 yr taco bell has been dying since they got rid of the OG frito burrito. they've fucked up that menu almost as bad as taco cobano.

I have weird food hangups so I don't eat a lot of these items (no white sauce ever, no creamy sauce, no liquid cheese etc) but yeah you can still get most of these items by ordering in a specific way. Google it. TB menu is highly customizable.

September 9, 20205 yr The tostada was the symbol of my youth. Same as a basic taco, plus the chance to slip and dump it in your lap.
September 9, 20205 yr Anybody ever go to Taco Bell, and there are some Mexico Mexican guys in line? And you have to stop yourself from asking them, "Hey man, do you know what place this is?"

I get Taco Bell during every Texas home game at Memorial Stadium, and that's really the only time in a year I do. You can make a double decker taco with a bean burrito and a crispy beef taco wrapped inside it.

September 10, 20205 yr They lost me when they removed the meximelt. fuckers. There was a hack where you could order a cheesy roll up and add pico and ground beef. But now they are getting rid of pico too. Wtf.
September 10, 20205 yr When we first moved to the states I found a beef meximelt, mexican pizza, 7 layer burrito (with no SC), and double decker taco were my jam. Now they're all gone. Fuckers killed my fresh to america youth
September 11, 20205 yr 7lauer burrito was the only thing I could eat from the bell. Now there's nothing I want. Still get my kids bean burritos when we're In a rush and I feel like being an asshole to them.
September 11, 20205 yr Quote I don't have Taco Cobana to fall back on here. Del Taco is somehow actually worse than Taco Bell. So this hits close to home. I guess I'll tell him. Taco Cabana sucks now too....
September 11, 20205 yr I remember when they introduced the Taco Bell gong on the screen during football games. Pissed me off so much I swore I'd never eat there again. But during every late night drunk walk back to my apt from the Hole in the Wall or the Showdown, I'd cave. Every fucking time I'd cave.

September 11, 20205 yr How many combinations of stray animal ground meat, expired canned refried beans, and fake cheese can there be?I think it’s Jim Gaffagan who has a bit about this. I think it’s a rube going into a Mexican restaurant asking “what’s in a taco?” “Tortilla, seasoned meat, cheese.” “Well, what’s in a burrito?” Etc etcThere’s a lot of truth to that especially in a shit “Mexican “ restaurant like Taco Bell. I keep predicting that they are going to run out of “new” menu items to make with the same 5 or so core ingredients. Adding Fritos and Dorito seasoning bought them a few years but that’s run it’s course.
September 11, 20205 yr If you get that generic it works for every food type. American: hamburger - meat, bread, vegetables, sauce, cheese Hot dog - meat, bread, vegetables, sauce Pizza - meat, bread, vegetables, sauce, cheese Etc

I used to do the same thing with Crystal's in E TN, but for different reasons. Every time I'd decide to hit that shit place up at 1AM, I eat, get sick, then swear it off for eternity. Guess where I was 2 weeks later after a late game? Yep. Rinse, repeat.

September 12, 20205 yr Then I am wrong. The one that had the “lava sauce”. Orange spicy cheese sauce. Shit was hot. You could also add local sauce to any other item. It also came with spicy shell and pre-dates the Doritos shells.
