Was that Jett Bush that turned the QB into Burke?

Yes. I remember that being more of a team sack than individual play by Burke. Good hustle by both.

I’ll admit I haven’t read all the way up this thread…and I was at the game and enjoyed a day away from football yesterday and today….

….but surely someone else was impressed with Kristopher Ross? Dude was extremely active, athletic and effective…at least, in person to my untrained and beer/heat affected eye

Scipio Tex noticed KR

Ethan Burke notched 1.5 sacks and 4 tackles, showing good motor on all of his snaps. His best effort was getting cut down on a pass rush, regaining his feet and then completing the sack after Jett Bush funneled the QB into him. Kris Ross also had two very nice pressures and a QB hit. He’s regained weight from his self-imposed spring Jenny Craig diet and looks both stronger and more explosive at +15-20 pounds. Stop fasting and keep feasting on QBs, Kris. I’m not going to name every guy, but great effort from the whole unit. The display of depth and the intensity of play was outstanding.

I was going to say he looked bigger than his listed 255.

Did Sydir get any run against Rice?

Heard on an On Texas Football Video he played last series...

#1  Justice Finkley

Justice Finkley’s season outlook

Finkley spent the majority of the 2022 season backing up Barryn Sorrell at Jack. That’s likely to be his primary role, though he could factor in at Buck as well behind assumed starter Ethan Burke.

A product of Hewitt-Trussville in Alabama, Finkley and his stout work in the run game could entail more snaps when facing run-heavy offenses. Finkley will play often this year as the trusted second man at two different positions.

Finkley played in 12 games last season, totaling seven tackles (one solo) with half a tackle for loss, half a sack and one quarterback hurry. He is a two-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (spring 2022, fall 2022).

These two need to play like the baddest motherfuckers on the field Saturday.

Gerry says Trill Carter was not 100% vs Rice.

"He was wearing a knee brace, I believe on his left knee, and he definitely had a hitch in his giddy-up so he's not 100%"

You spelled "planet" wrong. Other than that... yeah.

Ross had several plays where he was getting good pressure and came close a few times to getting a sack.

Also, anybody else remember the play that went OOB on our sidelines and Bo got wiped out?

Well, we now know what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immoveable object.  It wasn’t the flashiest part of the night, but man, there were so many replays where Sweat absorbed multiple blockers without giving an inch on the line.  Impressive.

15 pressures on 27 drop backs? Damn.

Ross was hooked by their TE and not called, should have been.

Gbenda took Bo out with the leg whip, Bo went down hard but bounced back up like a boss.

Saban said it in the post game presser. We got some sacks and a ton of pressure from our base 4 man and sometimes 3 man fronts.

When was the last fucking time this happened on a consistent basis??????????

PK and Bo deserve fucking raises.

One play in the 1st half Broughton was in and I thought to myself uh oh.  He then proceeded to slice through the OL like they were sitting still.

It’s unreal how this defense can just roll in wave after wave of enormous, fast, strong bodies without dropoff.  The depth is crazy.

Just a ridiculously good performance.

Bama fans are throwing Milroe under the bus, but a less mobile QB gets sacked a LOT more than 5 times.

How come only one of his TFL’s was a sack?  I don’t get it.

Seems like if Milroe took a single step forward, they didn't score it a sack.

It looked like it was a called QB run play.

I watched the receivers and it sure looked like the ran some routes for a pass play.  They’re screwing him!

Sweat had a quiet great game. From what I saw he stood tall taking double teams. I think that tfl from burke was created by sweats disruption.  Hes had a solid 2 games. He and murphdawg are stout.

All praise for Sweat. He demanded a double team just about every down he was in there and held up against or abused 700 lbs of Alabama offensive linemen. He made it possible for a lot of other Horns to show out.
