I heard an interesting theory referenced on a podcast. Think it was Kevin Clark who theorized there's a new generation of QB's (Cam Ward, Shedeur, Caleb Williams) who hold the ball too long because they haven't been punished for it. In the parlance of a football board mongoloid, the pussification of football has slowed QB's down. Could be bullshit, tiny sample size and all.

7 on 7 definitely has its drawbacks, especially for quarterbacks. And I'm not a 7 on 7 hater.

What's remarkable about Shedeur, is that he got severely punished for two seasons holding the ball too long and it still didn't change the habit. Nobody on the Colorado staff could get him to stop.

Mary Kay Cabot was on Florio and said that she expects that both rookies (Gabriel and Sanders) will start at some point this season.

The Browns want to "see what they have" heading into the next draft where they will have two first round picks.

Flacco will start then they will give each rookie a shot at starting. Of course the noise when Sheduer starts will be insane if they do this.

A side note she mentioned - Watson will likely be ready to come back this season. They'll launch Flacco if that occurs (thanks to Watson's nine figure dead money hit.)

aint nobody got time for that GIF

tl;dw: "Looks like a college Spring Game for a guy who just arrived on campus. You cannot do that."

Other than Mike Leach, I don't know of too many coaches who would've given that answer.  Another reason why I like Deion in the college game.

Dude’s got a depends bathroom on the sideline. The simulation has an additional glitch we were unaware of.

I will always hope a Deion coached team loses. He is my college football heel. I'm glad he's coaching.

The college football world is better when there is a Rick Flair or Roddy Piper.

Yep was thinking that during the run.

Colorado's white out matches GT's (badass) unis...

Colorado is stupid and Sanders with some horrific clock management.

Hahaha GT let that guy behind them

fify.

Missed it by two toes.

Can't wait to see what he says about the two timeouts in his pocket. Assuming the media there actually ask him any decent questions.

He'll probably say it's racism or something

He’ll blame it on the players. If they play better, we don’t need timeouts

Remember when Deion talked shit to everyone within earshot after they beat TCU 2 years ago?

Tell us about those TOs COACH PRIME!

so fucking hilarious...2 TO's unused.  Sanders is a buffoon.

It’s a calculated effort to discredit him. He’s being ostracized, diminished and derailed.

I’m listening to his interview now. He said he thought they got out of bounds a couple of times. Then he rambled something about getting close to a first down and the clock stops.

WTF?

I mean during an in-game interview when asked what advice he had given Salter to get the offense going he said "everyone wants to be him, it's time to be him."

Quite the tactician.

Laugh if you will, but he’ll be in great shape when he starts the next game with those two extra timeouts.

Deion’s actual quotes from the post game last night when asked about the timeouts:

“I think we got out of bounds a couple of times,” Sanders said. “We didn’t have to take them. That’s what transpired. We got out of bounds I think on both sidelines. That’s what happened. After the first, I think we got a good play and we caught the ball, I think, for nine yards. We had one yard to go, so if you get the first down, the clock stops. It don’t make sense to really use your timeout in that sense.”

“We were just really trying to preserve them for when we needed them,” Sanders said. “I don’t want to go home with timeouts. They don’t do me no good. But you’ve got to be strategic, as well. Just burning timeouts just to burn them just so you guys won’t say nothing, that don’t make sense at all.”

Him, who? Salter had choices

Never thought of Deion as a conservative coach

He’s crazy conservative. Last night’s time management fiasco went to a new level, but there’s been plenty of punting in plus territory for three seasons in Boulder.

I’m sure Dan Lanning is glad he doesn’t have to play them anymore

curious if the rock and KD are going to show up to Boulder this year

Meh, I understand it. He took a risk and defied convention. I dont particularly care for the Colorado circus, but it was clear his team needs a ton of work.

GT was a little slow to figure out their run defense was lacking, and still got 300+ yards on the ground.

Reminds me of that quote Rod Babers references often: "football is a struggle between what you want to be, and what you need to be to survive."

Coach, unfortunately you needed those TO's earlier than when you wanted to need them.

CU started with 1:07 left and 2 timeouts. 3rd play of the drive was snapped at :24. Oof.

It's always fantastic when the heel goes off the top ropes, completely misses the underdog hero the gets rolled for a 3 count. Of course the heel is gonna pop up and argue with the refs. Deion help the wrestling analogies write themselves.
