December 12, 20223 yr I love this quote from Connor Halliday when he was a QB at Washington State Quote I said to Leach, “What do I need to do to get the ball there on time?” He was like, “Well, just throw it to the guy who’s fucking open.” I was like, “Yeah, no, I get that dude, but what do you want me to do to get there quicker?” And he was like, “I don’t give a shit what you do. Just throw it to the guy who’s fucking open.”
December 12, 20223 yr A Redditor posted a cut-paste from the MSU 247 board: Quote Update from Steve Robertson: “There is only so much I am willing to post due to the sensitive nature of all of this, but things are not good at this point. I am going to respect Coach and the family's privacy. I have learned some very disturbing details that I will not share at this point. Not everything needs to be printed no matter how bad people want to read it. I understand Coach has undergone some tests in Jackson and that the situation appears to be dire. Yes, this is a life threatening situation. There is only so much people are going to share due to privacy laws and good decency. I can tell you that it appears Coach needs a miracle. Yes, I have received some of the text messages that are making the rounds, but I am told Coach is still fighting. Pray, pray, pray!” https://247sports.com/college/mississippi-state/board/59413/Contents/on-coach-830-pm-update-200233198/?page=1 It’s not hard to read between the lines here. Just fucking heartbreaking man. ETA: also could a mod edit my post title to include Robbie Faulk from Bulldog24/7 Just want to indicate the tweet is from an insider. The use of "disturbing details" makes it seem a little more dire than a medical issue. EDIT: that said, there are rumors of coding multiple times. I'd characterize that as disturbing. Prayers for Leach and his family. Edited December 12, 20223 yr by boilerhorn
December 12, 20223 yr Prayers up here! Damn…my uncle flatlined a few times after a massive heart attack. My other uncle coded twice after a stroke last Thanksgiving m. They are both Red Raiders and they are still with us! Prayers Up!
December 12, 20223 yr Wikipedia was using past tense when you Google his name. But it looks like It’s been changed back. Apologies for any false alarm and I wish the Pirate the best. Edited December 12, 20223 yr by Horn Dogg

December 12, 20223 yr Not sure what’s circulating throughout Mississippi, but this is notably in the past tense:
December 12, 20223 yr Sounds like it is real bad. Will spoiler this because it’s always possible that the SEC insiders are wrong, but the pirate should be in our prayers tonight. Spoiler God speed pirate!
December 12, 20223 yr Come on coach Leach!!! Texas Fight!! Edited December 12, 20223 yr by closetohumping
December 12, 20223 yr It’s like Woodstock except everyone has their clothes on… (if he’s headed or has already headed to that big pirate ship in the sky I hope that’s what his Heaven is like)
December 12, 20223 yr I saw this earlier. I didn't know it was that serious. Get off the sick coach. World still needs a crazy pirate.

December 12, 20223 yr This was going around MSU chats: Quote He did have massive heart attack. He just got out of the cath lab and is up in the ICU now on an ecmo. The fact that he was in the cath lab for so long is worrisome. He's coded multiple times today. I'm told they're worried about the lack of oxygen to his brain. They've had to defib him several times with max power. Hearing it will be a miracle if he makes it."
December 12, 20223 yr Man this is fucked up. I can’t imagine college football without Mike Leach. Praying tonight for him and his loved ones.
December 12, 20223 yr Wow. Terrible [emoji3064][emoji3064]it’s reading like the end of a very colorful legendary career [emoji24] [emoji2526] [emoji3590]
December 12, 20223 yr His cameo in Friday night lights was absolutely perfect. It happened to air when that advice was actually perfectly applicable to his life.
December 12, 20223 yr I don't want to live in a world where Mike Leach isn't a part of college football.

December 12, 20223 yr Just now, Pancho said: Sounds like he’s brain dead and the fam is being flown in to make a decision. If he's on an ECMO machine, that's basically a bridge to nowhere.

December 12, 20223 yr Popular Post fuck man NOBODY found a way to piss off aggys more than this guy. we need him in this world. even if he cant coach anymore we need him around to tell great stories. i really hope to wake up to better news tomorrow. get better coach
December 12, 20223 yr This is very sad. Mike Leach, while he cost us in 2008, was always one of the best things about college football.
December 12, 20223 yr Were there not rumors floating around toward the end of the season that he would be retiring due to health issues? I’m sure I read that somewhere. After I saw it, I paid attention to him at his games and I thought he looked bad, just worn out and very pale. Hoping Leach pulls through. He’s a real character who makes CFB more interesting. December 12, 20223 yr Popular Post Probably too soon to talk about his legacy but people are going to remember him for all his zany pirate shit but there’s an argument to be made that he’s the most influential offensive coach of the last twenty years.
