Right back atcha, Sparky. It's a bizarre affectation that I don't think makes any sense. But whatever.

Looks like they shot the guy.

ABC13 had an angle directly behind the cops. I was watching on my computer, but it looked like they unloaded on him as soon as he got out of the car. Couldn’t tell if the suspect was armed or if anything happened leading up to it.

Didn’t expect to see someone die today.

Someone on Reddit said the suspect shot at the officers when he got out of his vehicle.

Had a gun out on exiting vehicle. Stupid games, stupid prizes. Thankfully he didn’t run over anyone or decide to shoot up a daycare on his way out.

Live in LA. Dude had a dodge caravan, cops spiked the tires and he ran to a gas station. Jacked a BMW at the station.

i like the speeds in the upper right.  you know that's purely for entertainment value.

Yeah it went up wildly at times when he was driving the dodge caravan and the work van. He was driving a Ferrari based on that speed number. Ohh he is going 65, 2 seconds later he is at 109!!

I learned 2 things today, don't leave your car unlocked with keys at a gas station and if there is a giant parking garage at a mall, dive in there and ditch.

That dude could have gotten away if he went to that mall and just walked in shedding the jacket. Maybe swap some clothes at a store.

That was the most gta chase I have seen to date. My buddy sends me the links all the time. I will try to remember to post them more often.

There was a cement truck chase in LA earlier today based on that coverage as well. That would have been interesting.

I’ve always thought the shopping mall would be my choice in such a situation.  Get a little distance at the last minute, blast up to the 3rd level of the parking garage, park by the mall entrance, and disappear into the crowd.

Does this stuff happen more often in LA than other places, or do they simply sensationalize it better than other places?

I believe it has to do with the number of news copters with cameras, per capita…

My favorite was a couple of years ago here in Houston.  Some dude is hauling ass on the freeway dodging 5-0 all over the place.  He gets a couple of tires blown out, crashes into a barrier and bails out over the barrier into one of Houston's infamous residential / industrial mixed zones.  Oh yeah, his dog jumps out of the car too - this is a key point.

Homeboy starts running through what looks like a salvage yard full of stripped down cars and hides between a couple of them.  Po-po is on foot searching for him since the choppers know which lot he's in, but they can't see exactly where he's hiding.  Never fear, ol' Rover runs right to his hiding spot and gives him up.  Cops go in guns drawn and that's that.  Freakin' dog led to his capture.

saw a chase go by in its early phases a couple weeks ago. traffic on 45 southbound near airline was heavy but flowing ~55 mph. white corvette gets on from the ramp a couple lanes over and proceeds to play frogger moving forward through traffic. couldn't go much quicker than the flow because of how packed it was but kept cramming into whatever small space was available. single HPD tahoe sticking to him like stink on shit. a minute later another comes up behind us going as fast as he could in the left lane. vette must have exited onto 10 from 45 because another two cops came flying up from behind and took that exit. never saw anything in the news about it.
