They don't happen to only us, its league wide issue. We didnt lose because of the refs, we lost because our coaches puckered and the players got out played We didn't lose to Tech because of the refs but the Bama game is a different story. The call in the end zone, no holding call on Youngs 3rd down run, no facemask on Keilans play, no PI on Sanders ...those are all crucial plays involving drives being extended or not, setting up 1st and goal, or directly involving points, and they all went against Texas
September 25, 20223 yr Maybe next time we play Bama, we start with a walk-on or a 4th string QB as a rule. Someone who volunteers for the sacrifice. Edit. Also fuck the Big 12 refs, of course! Edited September 25, 20223 yr by VaLonghorn99

The Big12 refs are the worst in college football. It’s not even close. SEC will most likely have Alabama and Auburn move to the SEC East when OU and Texas move into the SEC West. So we will rarely play Bama in the regular season, just as Bama and Georgia rarely play these days except for the CCG. Bama won't visit Austin maybe once in the next 10 years.

While disappointing that would make sense geographically because Alabama borders Florida. Texas QB's must play with an expectation of dirty hits from their players and be better prepared in the future.
September 25, 20223 yr Every school has a certain amount of fans that have their heads so far up their own asses that they actually believe the refs are out to get their team. Texas is no different. Big12 refs suck. They're not held accountable by the conference. It's been this way for a long time. Every team deals with it every week. Texas hasn't dealt with more shitty calls than any other team. If you polled every other Big12 school's fanbase and asked if they thought the refs were out to get their team they would all overwhelmingly say yes. And if you asked a follow up question as to who they think has benefitted the most from questionable calls in the history of the Big12, every last one of them will say Texas. Randy Christal and Jon Bible are complete boogie-men for the rest of the conference, and not without some merit (yes, they're both retired now). It's all ultimately nonsense and completely childish, but when fans of the bell cow program in the conference whine like little bitches it comes across as especially pathetic. If any school can put their thumb on the scale it's Texas. We're nobodies bitch, but some of you seem to take some kind of weird comfort in thinking we are because it's easier than facing the reality of a mediocre football program.

Yes. Close enough to his foot being out of play and being short of the line to warrant a review. Nothing. Nobody is saying, "we lost because..." in this thread. We know the wounds were largely self-inflicted and the loss rests squarely on the team. It doesn't mean we can't discuss what seems to be a clear pattern since Mack left.

No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6). (A.R. 9-1-4-I-VI)Note 1: "Targeting" means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to: Launch-a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet The highlighted part is why the Overshown hit should not have been targeting. It was incidental and nothing beyond that which was required to make the tackle. Did they amend that rule since it was passed? I thought that the 3rd indicator was not limited to the head or neck area.

September 26, 20223 yr I found it quite odd to see the lopsided officiating on paper for both OU and ISU this weekend. I would be REAL curious to see the spreadsheet generated for OU going forward to see their disparity vs their opponents.

I do agree that if the fumble had gone out of bounds in the endzone, with no recovery, then it should go back to the offense at the spot of the fumble. Where does the fumble rule give the offense the ball if they recover it down the field? (I'm not sure on this) If you fumble it and it goes out of the endzone it has always been a touchback and you lose possession.
September 26, 20223 yr https://www.si.com/college/2022/09/24/acc-suspended-referee-who-botched-call-in-notre-dame-vs-cal-per-report Be nice if the Big 12 did this. ACC suspended the referee who called a fake offsides on Cal on a missed ND FG that lead to a ND TD.

October 1, 20223 yr Refs showing their ass in the tcu-ou game. No call for dpi or targeting Phantom fair catch call on punt All to the benefit of OU
October 1, 20223 yr Sorry guys, Samson's Wig says you can't mention or complain about blatant incompetence that affects the integrity of the game. Punt returner caught the ball with 15 yards of space in every direction and the ref completely makes up a fair catch signal that never got close to happening? Oh well, don't mention it. Defender lays out the receiver a full half second before the ball got there and there's no call? Suck it up, guys!

October 2, 20223 yr Few obvious missed holds, they really want WVU to hang around but they have stone hands. Same ole shit
October 2, 20223 yr Refs calling flops now what a joke of a conference. Texas should not be playing against these hillbilly turd officials next year.
October 2, 20223 yr Every fucking game we have to listen the broadcast get confused by big 12 refs. Every fucking week
October 8, 20223 yr Texas gets a couple first downs Stop the game for 15 mins for an official review...
October 8, 20223 yr OU possibly fumbles; no review. Texas gets too many yards on a big pass play; let's have another look.

October 8, 20223 yr Some horrible holding on the O-line by OU when they're gaining 8+ yards, got the DB wrapped when he's trying to turn and burn. Then the lovely throw from his knee on the fake punt. Seems like that should be a dead ball, but I don't make up the rules, the Zebras on the field do.

October 8, 20223 yr at this exact moment last year, after going up 14-0, the fuckery began i've posted the pics in multiple threads this week so not posting here to keep the thread clean for everyone in the stadium

Holder has a rule exception, otherwise he’d be down as soon as he caught the snap. And yes it extends to fakes.
October 8, 20223 yr Sanders was held on that attempted screen. Or does it not count since he was blocking the. Tried to release?

October 8, 20223 yr Nice of the refs to let both teams play today. Pretty obvious that when they don’t manipulate things, we win by 7 tds in all of our games.
