Urban, Dabo  or Saban.  money whip one of these guys and get back to winning.  Also, money whip the Vandy baseball coach and get baseball rolling again.

The only thing that might get Tom Herman fired is losing in Lawrence. And with COVID, even that is questionable.

IIRC last year Cincinnati was the most penalized team in their conference.  How are they wrt that this season?

BC Coach might be one to watch for 2022 if Herman returns for the 2021 Season...

Currently they’re tied for 40th in the country with 6.33 penalties per game. We’re near the bottom with 9.33 per game.

last year they had 8.8 per game while we had 7.3

Irony or no?  Urban replaced Fickell at tosu

1. Urban meyer

But since we have such high moral standards I’m sure we will end up with a local TAPPS coach from Austin Regents Academy.

After watching OU fans bash Venables for years, blame him for every loss, and run him out of town, I'm skeptical that he would be a good head coach.

I find it funny that he has ties to Rutgers too.

Y'all keep jinxing this shit.  Herman is gonna fuck around and run the table just to fuck with us

good.  i hope he does.  that will mean we got our money's worth on the offseason surgery.

i don't think he has a chance in hell.

Yeah, God i would HATE to go 9-1 with wins over OU, #10 OK State, #24 Iowa State and receiving votes KSU/WV.    That would be so fucking awful.

There's nothing to jinx.

Tom Herman will be here next year.

Unless he loses to Kansas.

Maybe.

"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

This may be the thread the gets me to kill myself.

I don't think Petersen will coach again. he's tired of this generation of pussy football players.

Urban and Mullens (probably pipe dream). Everyone wants Chris Peterson, but I just don't think he would cut it here.

Pipe dream- Saban, Dabo

P. J. Fleck also coached at Rutgers...

Damn Autocorrect

James Franklin and Malzahn would be two of my top current coaches that may actually be obtainable, along with Fleck. Mixed feelings on both but maybe Matt Campbell or even Gundy for proven Big 12 success with much less talent

Chip Kelly may be available at the end of the season.  Just sayin'.

1 Kyle Shanahan

2 Urban

3 Venables

hell no to Harsin and everyone else i don't know or care enough about to comment

He has moved from the sideline to the classroom at UW in the business school  From the Wall Street Journal:

"This fall, Petersen will be at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business, installed as the Fritzky Chair of Leadership and as an adjunct professor. The Foster B-School intends to open in late September with a combination of on-campus and virtual learning, and Petersen’s task will be to advise and mentor students, staff and faculty in the management approaches that made him one of the most successful college coaches of his generation."

Reading more and studying I think I like Tony Elliott more than Venables.

I really like what I’ve seen from Bill O’Brien

He did a good job in a tough situation at Penn State. He'd be a good hire.

Pipe dreams:  Kyle Shanahan, Eric Bieniemy

Realistic:  PJ Fleck, James Franklin

I initially hated the idea of Urban after his act at Florida and tosu.  After 2 absolute shit hires though, if we need him to get a ruthless attitude and performance into the team - then I'm in.  Absolutely no excuse for anyone in the b12 to be close to Texas except OU.

Major Applewhite, if his wife forgives him we should too.
How do we know he didn’t have a hall pass?
Major has the stones to force a player to wear team gear. We have a lot of legends in their own minds kind of players on this team. Anyone willing to go toe to toe with Ed Oliver has got that “it” factor we need.  Just think what he would do to this soft ass team. They would be forced to show up and be like actually prepared to play.

If we ran a real search, I think the BAH, Boston and McKinsey scorecards would all look something like this:

Kirby Smart

8 years learning the industry

8 years as Saban's DC

Given the keys to a helmet school as his first head coaching job

Big6/Playoff bowls years 2/3/4

In year 5, has a MACHINE in Athens ready to threaten his mentor

Tony Elliott

5 years learning the industry

10 years under Dabo, 4 as RB, 5 as CO-OC & RB, 2020 promoted to full OC following departure of the CO-OC

Attended the USAF Preparatory School as a football recruit in 1997.  Walked on at Clemson under Bowden in 1999.  Graduated in 2002 with a team-high 3.55 GPA.  Team Captain his last season in 2003.  As a walk-on.  Clemson career: 4 letters, 44 games, 4 starts.

Current confidence level: 75%

Has a transcendent QB.  If Lawrence leaves after this season, success in 2021 with a new QB would raise confidence to 85%.

When we go 10-1 and win the natty y’all gonna eat crow

Is this to be an empathy test?

Capillary dilation of the so-called blush response... fluctuation of the pupil... involuntary dilation of the iris?

If you want the best college football coach, the only names in the running are Saban, Urban, and Dabo. Two of them are obviously coaching at the program they built and are not likely to leave. Urban is tan, rested and ready to go. Three national championships, national coach of the year, and coach of the year in every conference in which he has coached. No hire would strike more fear in Oklahoma, the SEC, and college football generally than Urban to Texas. Do we want the best coach, or are other criteria more important?

Edited by Tony Two K

Harsin is the answer.

If you guys are ready to sell your soul for Urban, I say we bring in A Briles, who knows how to dirty himself with the best of them, and certainly knows how to win.
