This is going to be a tough one.  Braves have some offense.  Dodgers need to find a reliable closer.  7 games in 7 days, should it go that far, is going to test the hell out of the depth of each team.

It should be a great series.  I think the Dodgers win it because of their depth.

Yep, Dodgers in 6 and Betts is series MVP, which makes my 2020 a bit more suckier.

The Braves top 3 starters should give them a chance.

Lifelong Braves fan due to growing up in the 80's with TBS as a kid when cable TV consisted of about 30 channels. Dale Murphy, Claudell Washington were probably my first two favorite players and I can still remember a bunch of other spares from that era (Glen Hubbard, Bob Horner, Chris Chambliss, Rafeal Ramirez, Bruce Benedict, etc...). The 90's were a good time to be a Braves fan, but I really stopped following baseball nearly as much probably halfway through their run. These days I still don't really follow baseball nearly as much as football or hoops, but will certainly watch when the Braves are on. This is all a long roundabout way of getting to my point which is .....fuck the Dodgers. Even the shitty ass Braves have won a world series since the last Dodgers title.

And I was there that nice October evening. Was so pissed when they won in Game 6 since I had tickets for Game 7. 1-0 was teh final and to me it meant I did not get to go to a Game 7 for free.

But Peach Tree street sure was fun that night.

I hate the Braves for the reason you liked them. Growing up the only games I ever saw were Braves and Cubs. Being an AL fan that just sucked. But I did love those players.

As for the Dodgers.... The 1981 team was one of my Favorites growing up. I was in the Dominican Republic at the time and the country was Guerrero crazy.

Dodgers in 6.

100% the same except I think I’m about 5 years younger than you. I got to be a huge braves fan from 1986 until the present, though I really fell off and didn’t watch very much when the kids were young between 2005-2016 or so. I’ve watched this current team a lot and they’ve really grown up but I’m not sure they are quite there yet. Hope I’m wrong.

And yes, fuck the Dodgers.

Fuck yeah Freddie. Watching that infield shift against Albies, its mind boggling that these guys cant just half bunt the ball down the 3rd base line. Of course, I'm not the one that has to face the mid-upper 90's fastball.

I forgot that Buck/Smoltz call the Fox LCS and not just the WS.

Interesting sub for Duvall. Dude has 4 career mlb at bats prior to this game?

If we can’t hit Fried, let’s get that pitch count up and get to the bully.

Lulz at Dodgers radio, after the Braves went up 1-0, coming back from the break with Hotel California.

Fried dealing so far, 6 Ks through 3. same number of pitches as Buelher (57).

This Pache kid is special. Would be great to get a good AB and get Beuhler up to 85-90 pitches after this inning.

I don't understand why they've moved May to the bullpen

Was curious to what chick was attracted to Rocky from Mask so looked up what Dustin Mays woman looks like.

Impressive

How hard is it to get tickets?  I'm thinking about going to Game 5 just to see the stadium.

I agree with May- “fuck yeah!”

Damn, I wanted to see Culberson douche it up against the Dodgers

He got ahold of that one

We’ll see ya tomorrow.  One of these teams had to lose their first game.

This fucking team has been so much fun to watch this year.

Insurance imo

the potential for 7 games in 7 days can lead to some fucked up bullpen scenarios in some high pressure moments, so picking up a  game 1 W in the fashion that they did is good to see.

Yeah these bullpens could be toast by game 5 or so

Sucks to lose game 1 but I still have a pretty good feeling about the series.

I was not impressed by Globe Life Field. The exterior looks fine when looking at the large side that faces north with lots of glass windows. The exterior is also kind of ugly when viewed from either end with a huge angular sheet metal roof. The interior is fine I suppose but it seemed entirely generic. Not one single feature that stood out as being unique.

Concessions were terrible and beer selection was crappy. It seems that modern sports stadiums offer better food and drink options but the only things I saw tonight were basic concession stand food. I paid $12 for a brisket sandwich that looked like it belonged on a kids’ menu. Tried to follow that up with a personal pizza but they were out of those by the 5th inning. Tried to get a second Karbach IPA but they were out of those too. Hopefully this is a day 1 Covid problem and they’ll improve it for normal times.

Social distancing seemed mostly fine. There were the occasional oblivious assholes but most people seem to respect boundaries and the seats were adequately spaced.

It's typically referred to as 'The Shed' for a reason. And that's by Ranger fans.
