October 25, 20205 yr That wasn’t Jansen’s fault at all.The winning run wasn’t. But giving up a base hit to Brett Phillips is inexcusable. Jansen just isn’t very good anymore. A decent but unremarkable reliever at this point in his career.
October 25, 20205 yr It really wasn’t. Two seeing eye singles, one of which the bat was shattered. Pitchers, particularly relievers, are allowed to make hitters miss the ball entirely.

October 25, 20205 yr In 4 batters he gave up a walk and one hard hit ball (Wendle's out was a 97mph exit velocity). He was unlucky on Kiermaier's hit but Phillips's hit was clean. So out of 4 batters he basically lost to 3 of them.

October 25, 20205 yr The trophy is in Houston and the players have the rings. You can want an asterisk next to it but there isn't one. Cry more.

October 25, 20205 yr Rewatching the last play from the camera behind the plate, an argument can be made that Arozarena only scored because he fell down. He was going to be thrown out if it was a normal play. But when he tumbled, Muncy saw him at the last second right as he was about to throw. He yanked the throw low and left, indicating that he may have been trying to hold onto the ball at the last second because the runner fell down. That low left throw caused Smith to try a quick catch/swipe move because he didn't know about the tumble.
October 25, 20205 yr I would think it would be rather exhausting being the only fan base in America who three years after said championship is still having to defend it...that's the legacy. But if you guys want to go with funny, sure...go with it. Edited October 25, 20205 yr by Surly Bevo

But if you guys want to go with funny, sure...what go with it. Nobody's defending it, we're saying you're crying about it but the championship still stands. That's not even arguable. They cheated, they won the championship, they got their punishment, they still have the championship. There's nothing to debate. There's no asterisk on it, it's just a title. Like the Giants' 1951 NL pennant, like LSU's 2019 national championship, like every national championship Oklahoma ever won. They cheated, they won, they got caught, they still have the title. The end.
October 25, 20205 yr Between that play and the first three games of the ALCS it’s like we’re in a simulation that has preordained the Rays as WS champs. Like you could be tied with them in the bottom of the 9th and your clean up hitter could hit a ball 120 mph at 28 degrees and it would hit a pigeon in center and fall into the CF’s glove.
October 25, 20205 yr The Roberts reaction..now THAT was funnyI think he gets a lot of unnecessary shit from dumbass Dodger fans but bringing Baez out in the 7th was really stupid. Might end up costing him his job if they choke this series away against a clearly inferior team.

Great news, it's now a best out of 3 series and The Dodgers are the better team. Probably 7 out of 10 tries this Dodger team beats the Rays -- and yah still have at least 2 more 2020 World Series games to watch... 😁

October 25, 20205 yr I don't feel great about it either way as I didn't have anything to do with winning it. It's probably the same way you feel about all the basketball titles that Wooden cheated his ass off to win. Edited October 25, 20205 yr by Huckleberry

October 25, 20205 yr double post lol @ LA Dodgers. Great defense you little crybaby bitches. Edited October 25, 20205 yr by Gourmand
October 25, 20205 yr Probably been mentioned since the venue was announced, but when’s the last time a stadium held more than 4 WS games in one season?

We don’t need to bog down this thread with Astros fans who are trying to project their insecurities into this world Series for some weird reason.

That’s even more reason to throw it home, Arrozconpollo was dead in his tracks. The throw wasn’t the problem anyway, Smith should’ve handled it.
October 25, 20205 yr Such a meltdown. No fewer than 5 fuckups in 1 play. 1. Jansen throwing a 1-2 meatball 2. Taylor inexplicable bobble 3. Taylor panics and can’t make a strong throw home from shallow right field 4. Muncey yanks his relay throw 5. Smith can’t handle a very catchable throw.. Take away one of them and the Dodgers win the game and probably the World Series. SMDH Edited October 25, 20205 yr by TonyTexas

I agree that the Astro talk doesn't really belong in here, and that game was fantastic as a fan of sports in general. I'll just posit one point to ponder... Why is there virtually zero animosity from Astros fans towards Tampa... you know... the team that actually defeated our beloved heroes? You know the answer, the Dodgers have some bitchass motherfuckers on their squad. Bitchasses that make Helobious seem reasonable.
