October 20, 20205 yr Looks like it's going to have a pretty good field. Dustin, Brooks, Ricky, Jason Day have already committed and I'm sure there will be more. Also: A limited number of tickets (2,000 per day) are being sold. Tickets go on sale to public tomorrow. Looks like there is a pre-sale today. https://houstonopengolf.com/tickets I will be there (provided I get tickets) Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Cheers.

November 4, 20205 yr Tee times are up https://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/houston-open/tee-times.html Jordan with Brooks and Lanto Griffin 7:25/12:05 I used to play Memorial 20+ years ago, will I recognize it at all?

Not much. Jim Crane completely renovated it to get the tournament venue inside the loop. I haven’t played it but I know many who have. It’s supposed to be a very good course.

November 5, 20205 yr Still early, but they are not tearing up Memorial Park. Many of the early starters are finished. -3 is leading. Jordan went bogey, bogey, double and is now +1 and four back.

Must be a lot of changes from when I played it prior to the redo.
November 5, 20205 yr Just getting a chance to check the scores... I see Spieth’s front nine. maybe he is starting to figure it out!!! Nope... Edited November 5, 20205 yr by UTexasFight

November 5, 20205 yr It's a totally different course from what I hear. A lot longer too.It is. Crane is proud of it. He knows a little about golf courses. His Floridian is top notch.

The green complexes are pretty challenging with small target areas (despite being relatively large). Barley any bunkers...which pros usually have no issue with.

Yeah, I was surprised (but not shocked) as he was 1 shot out of the lead after the front 9 (maybe tied after #10) and then fell to 73 by the end of the day, and he will likely need to be 70 or better to play the weekend at Memorial Park For what it's worth, I'm likely to blame for his performance as I put him on my fantasy team this week - for the first time in over a year. November 6, 20205 yr Post round interviews yesterday were interesting. The bermuda rough didn’t look that bad but it was thick enough to prevent a good shot to the green. And the green complexes were very difficult if you missed the green in the wrong spot. Doak and Koepka did a good job with the course. As of a few minutes ago there were only 31 players under par.
November 8, 20205 yr Love watching the tour pros deal with the bermuda rough along the fairways and around the greens. Memorial Park is holding up very well.
November 8, 20205 yr yep. leaders still in single digits at the end of 3 rounds. nice little leaderboard, too.
November 8, 20205 yr damn, I kept thinking Carlos Ortiz was Speith until I saw he was in the fairway.
