Over/under on how long it takes Trump to ask what idiot appointed him, call him a moron, and denounce him as a traitor?

I worked under (next to? over?) then-AG Abbott for 2 or 3 years making rulings on open records requests. It was kind of fun getting to see a bunch of stuff that gov't agencies didn't want people to see.

It's interesting that our state supreme court believed it had authority to broaden the Public Information Act, which is entirely a legislative creation. Something something judicial activism

I bet you're kinda familiar with Abbott's MERP shenanigans + $500,000,000 to COTA (so far) then, amiright?

The preliminary statement alone! Whiny fucking bitch doesn't even cut it.

I expect him to attack Abbott and the legislature for fucking up so badly.  He has to be seething over those 5 seats, especially if California pulls it off.

Are you kidding?  He just wrote Judge Ho's opinion for him.

The dissent on the redistricting case seems like it could be a fun read.

Yeah, Jesus.  It's an insane rant.

Jerry Smith has been on the Fifth Circuit for a long time, way predating its current insanity and dating back to when it was one of the "best" most level-headed courts of appeal.

Therefore, I kind of assumed that he was sane.  I can't recall any of his opinions or panels being particularly insane in the past, like Edith Jones or James Ho.  Nor can I recall any of his opinions being good or fun like Reavely, Gee, or Goldberg, among many.

He's obviously lost his goddamn mind.

The good thing though, is that insane rant doesn't give SCOTUS any particular hooks to reverse on.

Yeah it missed you by a few years ... still ongoing as we speak. $500M is a lotta got damn money, and the trough is still wide open with Abbott calling the COTA cows in to feast some more.
