Focus bitch made. Maybe Horowitz will include the FBI assessment table that relates the verification status of each of the claims in the Steele dossier.  Then wecan compare it to the WaPo piece you love. That would be something.

Your first sentence is a personal attack. Your second sentence is an appeal to authority. Your third sentence sets up a strawman.

Even for you, this is an impressive amount of consecutive logical fallacies.

If only you'd concluded it with a gif that grotesquely oversimplifies and misstates the situation. So close to a masterpiece of trolling and yet so far.

LOL. You distancing yourself now from your prior deep throated defense of the veracity of the specific claims of the Steele dossier? I am not sure that you really know what a strawman is. I mean it is clear that you don't know what appeal to authority is.

You forgot your gif. I just can't take you seriously without a gif.

Damn, you really work hard at this.  I've never, ever encountered anyone with a bigger problem of seeing the forest for the trees.  Congratulations, I guess.  Seems a mighty waste.

Not looking like it. Judging on Anastasis and zork's posts, it looks like they are going to try to fuck a different chicken for a while.

They are all in on the lies, why would reality start intruding into their worldview now? Don't look for a bottom, or a line. There is none.

Yes forests and trees indeed. The FBI/NSA/CIA/ETC have a systematic pattern of abusing the surveillance process in this country.  As pointed out to you previously, neither these institutions nor their leaders can be trusted to protect the 4th Amendment rights of Americans. Our elected officials cannot even provide the necessary oversight when they bother. This effects all Americans. These organizations also have a long history of injecting interference into politics, both domestic and abroad. But what we have here is a specific example of the modern day worst case scenario. The most intrusive aspects of our surveillance apparatus system deployed into a domestic political context. That intersection is extremely fraught, and deserves an extremely heightened level scrutiny. Forest for trees? After Trump is rotting in the grave we will still be dealing with an out of control and unaccountable surveillance state.

Correct.  You're focused on a specific tree and missing the forest.  You're more than smart enough to rectify your myopia but you choose not to.  That's not our problem.  It's your problem.

You clearly have me mixed up with someone else who had an opinion about something to do with Prague.  But I never have any fucking clue what your Prague gimmick is about.

Anything new out there today regarding FISA applications, political opposition research, probable cause, etc.?

Stuck in a conference room at Westin and haven’t been able to keep up with new developments. Did have a pretty fair chicken lunch under the circumstances, however.

They issued a report which said some poster named Anastasis on surly horns was right all along and called for an apology from the surly liberal cabal.

In all seriousness they basically said there was probable cause but missteps along the way. Of course our “attorney general” immediately trashed it because it didn’t give trump 100 percent of what he wanted.

All of this.  We’ve been bitching about FISA generally since its conception.  Conservatives loved that shit when it served their fascist impulses.  They only turned all ACLU on us when the system was used to attempt to thwart fascism.

Par for the conservative course, really.  The defining principle of “conservative” ideology these days is preservation of unfair advantages and pathetic whining when those advantages are opened to others.

Worse than that the report actually torpedoes 3 years of Fox/GOP talking points.

What does it say about Steele’s dossier and it’s use in the applications? Was it a crucial component of the decision to get the FISA warrant, and provided a pivotal basis for the establishment of probable cause? Was the material and  representations in the applications all handled appropriately? What does it say about FBI attempts to verify the material? Does it conclude that most of the information that could be verified was in fact based on publicly available information, rather than a network of steele’s sources and sub sources?

I assume you know the answers to these questions?  You're obviously frustrated that you're pet perspective has been stonewalled every step of the way.

Here are excerpts of every single finding on political bias in the Executive Summary:

• Page III. On Opening the Main Investigation.

“We concluded that Priestap's exercise of discretion in opening the investigation was in compliance with Department and FBI policies, and we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced his decision.”

• Page IV. On Opening Four Individual Investigations of Page, Manafort, Papadapoulous and Flynn.

“We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the decisions to open the four individual investigations.”

• Page VI. On FISA of Carter Page

“We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the FBI's decision to seek FISA authority on Carter Page.”

• Page XVII. On Usage of Confidential Human Sources and Undercover Employees.

“Finally, we also found no documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivations influenced the FBI's decision to use CHSs or UCEs to interact with Trump campaign officials in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”

And a Bonus on Page II. On Steele Dossier playing no role whatever in the Predication of the Investigation

“These officials, though, did not become aware of Steele's election reporting until weeks laterand we therefore determined that Steele's reports played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening.”

How about you read it yourself so you can Barr yourself?

Liberal Twitter- "Russia Probe finds no evidence of political bias"

Conservative Twitter- "FBI abused FISA court and purposely hid certain issues in order to get warrants approved. Also, Steele Dossier is total fantasy"

Also just saw this:

Statement of U.S. Attorney John H. Durham

“I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff.  However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department.  Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S.  Based on the evidence collected to date, and while our investigation is ongoing, last month we advised the Inspector General that we do not agree with some of the report’s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened.”

Don’t worry, I will. Gonna be later in the week. But maybe in the meantime you can tell me what it says about Steele’s credibility. I recall that you opined on  the result of an interview between the OIG and Steele and how a leak from his lawyers reflected on a determination of his credibility. Anything in there that leads you to reconsider?

They guy who called 911 needs to be investigated!
