Dude, he was saying that the action of repeating propaganda (Dems have moved too far left) is a significant problem. As well as a lie.

First step in solving a problem is identifying the problem.

Well, I have good news and bad news, then.  We have identified the problem.  But, ummm, there is no solving it.  Stupid has won.  It has won completely and totally, and there is no going back.  We have to ride this ALL the way down.  At this point, hoping that we don't end up in a nuclear conflict with someone for absolutely no fucking reason is where we need to place our hope.  But I wouldn't hope too hard.

It's not a close call. It's not easy, but it's not a close call. The argument against a shutdown is that Dems don't really have any leverage anyway and letting the government shut down means Trump/Elo

Can't we find a reason to impeach this guy again? But this time oust him? Surely there has got to be something you can find in the cadre of misdeeds. The D party should be working OT to figure this out and put a plan into place you would think. Prove you have some dog in you, at least. Speaking for 24 hour straight isn't gonna do anything, we need action.

You think the third time will be the charm when Democrats don't hold a majority in either the House or the Senate? Dems tried to impeach him twice already when they had the chance, but it was REPUBLICANS who refused to convict him, thus enabling this asshole to run for office again and poison American democracy and our economy from within.

Go take your complaint to the "WTF is wrong with you, GOP?!?" thread.

But what I am saying is that I think this time it would be different. Republicans, billionaires, the oligarchy are mad and would love the cover to plunge the knife in his back if he keeps bleeding their money.

Well, Republicans, billionaires, and the oligarchy have plenty of evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors from just the last 2 1/2 months already.

They, ultimately, have the power (votes, money, influence) to get rid of this asshole through a completely constitutionally copacetic process.

Why not done? Do something!

Republicans aren't going to do anything because Trump and Elon have threatened them. They know if they turn on Trump, they will turn maga loose on them and find someone to primary them. These Republicans care more about their job than they do their constituents, the constitution, and the American people.

This.  Which is one of many reasons why the GQP is a terrorist organization.

Which is weird, because these aren't even very good jobs.

This is so fucking dumb, but his followers will believe it.  They are promising $100M, or whatever, in pro bono services.  I am not defending these law firms from caving... it's cowardice.  But if you read what Paul Weiss or Skadden, for instance, agreed to, they aren't really doing anything they wouldn't be anyway outside killing their DEI programs.  To put it in perspective, $100M at the highest available rates (which is what will be applied) is 50-100 hours per lawyer at a firm like Paul Weiss or Skadden (and it's probably less given how rates are going up).  Over number of years, that's already happening.   But it's not like they are cutting $100M checks to the government.  The partnership would revolt.  This is all performative by dear leader.   Still, it will be interesting to see if there is a stigma in recruiting associates (both lateral and out of law school). I think there will be.

I think if a collection of firms, starting with the 20 or so on the EEOC list that haven't caved, could unify on this, it could really create some noise.  I'll be interested to see how the EEOC letters get addressed.  Managing partners/firm CEOs of the Biglaw firms get together and talk on lots of things.  They have conferences to share ideas, they self-insure together, etc.  My guess is most will ignore or quietly respond to the EEOC letters.  But there is opportunity here to do something significant.  I won't hold my breath.

I met Goldman once when he came into the restaurant I used to work at in Manhattan. I think I was the only person there who recognized him. He was very nice and answered a couple of questions I had for him. We need more reps like him, Swalwell, Crockett and AOC.

I'm a broken record on this, but it's like all the potential dem candidates in 2028 are lining up to see who can be the most maga friendly. I mean I get what they're trying to do, but I also think it's fucking disgusting. And there may be nothing left by 2028 anyway.

He's been a Never Trumper from the get-go and has been quite vocal about it on social media, though I don't recall him getting many invites on the talk show circuit the last decade or so and he doesn't have an army of buffoons out there waiting to kidnap him. But, yeah, fucking Whitmer just lost a lot of my respect. Show some balls, lady.

I get that Democrats like protectionism, but hitching yourself to what is obviously the worst policy decision since 1930 is fucking disastrous. Some complete moron Representative from Pennsylvania came on to speak on behalf of the House Democrats and was also yapping on about how tariffs are actually pretty great when used correctly...I was like WTF? YOU NEED TO BE RIPPING TRUMP LIKE CRAZY FOR DESTROYING THE ECONOMY. You need to be fighting to save the country you moronic idiots.

It's like they are fundamentally incapable of being politicians and do politics. All they do is react to Republican actions, even completely moronic ones.

Democrats don't seem to understand that the voters who swung the election to Trump because he wasn't Biden/Harris are the same voters who will swing right back and vote for someone who isn't Trump.

So they do dumb things like trying to cater their message to "Trump voters" instead of promoting their own extremely popular policies.

And only once the Republican Party finally turns on Trump, long after he is dead/out of office of course, will they finally shift back. Because they just try to insert themselves into Republican narratives no matter how unpopular they are.

Stop making unnecessary posts when you know why a post says something like that. It’s as pointless as what the grammar nazis do.

Or you could stop and reread what you've written before posting. Seems kinda weird to claim to have met someone in person and then completely misspell their name. Didn't seem like a typo. Seemed like you didn't know who you were talking about

Yes you’ve caught me. I never met him, asked him what it was like up to that point of being a freshman representative in Congress or what was his biggest adjustment to the job. I must’ve met the old wrestler instead. Find something better to do with your time before the fascists in charge decide they want to take away your business for not being part of their cult.

The optics and the big picture for Whitmer are appalling.

On a more micro or local level, I suspect she's trying to help (and secure the votes of) Michigan auto workers.  And maybe thinks she can be a gauardrail that the cabinet and Congress have so far refused to be.

Those are the people we really need to be sending to a gulag in El Salvador.

See, I find those pics of Whitmer from today in the oval office HOT.  Because that look of shame and regret is EXACTLY like the look I imagine she'd have after a session of sweet, sweet loving with old Brisket.  HAWT.
