So I'm a bit of a Pete Yorn fanboy.  His first two albums are the soundtrack for the days of dating Mrs. South Austin.  His lyrics can be a bit sophomoric at times, but overall he's a damn good songwriter and musician.  Two news items for fellow fans:

1. He's going on another solo acoustical tour hitting The Parish on October 9. I saw his show there a few years ago and it was a ton of fun.

2. He and Scarlett Johansson are releasing an EP as a follow up to their 2009 album Break Up. I'm always skeptical when an actor tries to make the crossover into music, but Scarlett's project with Pete Yorn was really good, mostly because her vocals were fairly complimentary to his and the music.  Apart will be released June 1.

Huge Pete fan but his last record bored me to tears. Saw him about 3 months ago and was a great show.

Have a friend that I buy tickets for every year. Love this pic of them....Yorn all dorked up.

I loved the Duet record. That thing was held off the market for two years before it was released. I was done well before the She and Him thing with Deschannel and M. Ward, but came out after.

His love from New Jersey record is fantastic. Can't wait for the new one.

It looks like he has a Strange Condition in that pic where his legs are short and torso very long. /no homo

Same here.  It was nowhere near the quality of his first three albums.

Also a big Pete fan.

I was a huge fanboy in the early 00s with the Morning/Day/Night albums.  The later ones were hit and miss, but I actually really loved ArrangingTime.  I think it was because it was a break up/divorce album that came out right as I was getting divorced.

I've seen him live a couple of times... my favorite was seeing him at Harrah's in Kansas City back in maybe '08 or '09 or so.  I actually met him in the casino after the show. He could not have been any nicer.

I'm more interested in what South Austin's mom thinks of Pete Korn. Can his music become the soundtrack for the days I'll be dating South Austin's mom?
