His final word was Connery.

I remember him first hosting High Rollers and then of course Jeopardy.

One of the funniest things I ever saw was an episode of Cheers where the plot was Cliff being selected as a contestant on Jeopardy.

RIP to a great guy.  Always loved watching him.  To join Connery in peace at last, in that great Final Jeopardy in the sky.  That they went in the same week as one another?

Q: What is the 3rd RIP Alex Trebek thread?

A: This one

Edited by TonyTexas

He deserves his own thread. Other remembrances are available in the Jeopardy thread. (I see Daily Texan has one, too, but this seems the appropriate forum.)

RIP,  Alex.

RIP. Jeopardy has always been one of me and my mom's favorite things to watch together. It won't be the same without him. Amazing that he was hosting all the way until the end. Straight class.

Got to meet him when trying out for Teen Jeopardy some 25 years ago.  It was a complete surprise to all of us.

Same here, met him when I tried to get in regular jeopardy.  Super nice man and I will miss the show without him.

RIP Alex... you were a class act

Not as genuine class as Alec Guiness, but close.

What is an American legend?  Consulate grace and class...

RIP.

You've gone too far this time 2020

Maybe, no, definitely the best ever host of a game show.

RIP.  Enjoy the daily double in the sky.

I don’t even watch jeopardy but I always liked him.  may he rest in peace.

goodnight, sweet prince.

Trebek, Connery, and Reynolds gone. Someone needs to check in on French Stewart.

... not bad for a Canadian, either.  RIP.

RIP.

80 is not quite old enough to qualify for a really good run.  Close.  Add in pancreatic cancer and his passing is probably a blessing.

An American pop culture institution. RIP.

I didn't expect to howl with laughter in this thread, but slorch brought the levity.

There's a word in my post that addresses it...

Might be a stupid question, but who's going to host now?

Rephrasing, the next host of Jeopardy will be this person.

RIP to the best

Someone correct if wrong, but I think they've been grooming Jennings for the role.
