Nerd Alert!

I got hooked on Dragonball Z and then Naruto back in the day on Toonami and watched some other stuff from time to time but over the last few years I’ve picked up a couple of series which have been pretty good since they are now readily available on Netflix/Hulu/etc.  (Note: I only watch English dubs)

Full Metal Alchemist ‘Brotherhood’

Hunter X Hunter

Sword Art Online

Parasyte

Anyone else watch any of these or have any other recommendations?

No I only watch good anime.

In the last five or ten years, the only animes I've watched and can remember the names are stuff like Psycho-Pass, Black Butler, Blue Exorcist, and the Seven Deadly Sins. I also watched the fan-dub end of Dragon Ball Super on YouTube a couple of years ago. And, of course, One Punch Man. No accounting for taste or qualify.

I like Brotherhood and I just finished My Hero Academia. Those were probably all I have watched in the past few months

I tried to watch Brotherhood years ago, but I'd just finished binging Fullmetal Alchemist and it couldn't maintain my interest even one ep in. Should I give it another chance?

Does  castlevania count? I think it does. I’ve enjoyed it. What about Dragon Prince? Not sure it does, but I and my kids like it

I've stumbled into a bit of it on the internet.  Oh wait, this is movies and tv.  Nevermind.

SOA, Attack on Titan, One Punch Man. All pretty good. SOA is bit predictable and the hero is overpowered(so is One Punch Man, but it's handled differently).  Seven Deadly Sins is fun.

Checkout Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer. Season 3 of Attack on Titan is the shit.

Watch Cowboy Bebop.  Then realize nothing else will ever come close to that so you don't need to watch any anime ever again.  Profit.

Brotherhood was better than the original but it’s not nearly as good as it’s IMDB rating or the fanboys claim.

Motion to rename thread “Official virgin mega thread”. Fucking losers lmao.

Flipping through the streaming apps recently and I randomly by accident have watched every episode of Mob Psycho, One Punch Man, and Parasyte. Hoping a season 3 of One Punch Man gets made so I can watch it by accident again.

Was considering naming it Tentacle Monsters and Japanese dudes that look like women but figured if I did it would turn into a pee in her butt type of thread.

Mob Psycho 100 was really good. The body improvement club was such a good group of bros.

My oldest kid has me watching some of these - my first anime at age 45.

- Attack on Titan - Maybe my favorite, very cool concept
- The Last Airbender - The kids love this, but I’m a few episodes in and it just seems like a kids cartoon to me where these others are more adult oriented.
- Tokyo Ghoul - Pretty good, enjoyed season 1.
- The Promised Neverland - Depressing! Not sure I’m going to stick with it.
- Parasyte - Liked this a lot.

They have me set up to watch Devilman Crybaby this weekend? No idea what that is.

Looks like I’ll check out Cowboy Bebop, Mob Psycho, One Punch Man.

The Last Airbender is a kids show. It's also probably the best animated series of the early 2000s.

Loved Cowboy Bepop when I was younger. I haven't checked out Parasyte yet. That is on the list.

My 13yo son is addicted

Promised Neverland

Bleach

Naruto

Something with Titans

Not sure a 13 year should be watching attack on titan, but it's probably close to the age

It started in 2005. And it doesn't hold a candle to Digimon.

Samurai Champloo is also a good "non anime fan" anime watch.

Movies are a better discussion. I find it hard to get into really any anime show. The pacing is almost always too slow for me.

Ok. I’ll need to check it out. I saw one episode and while violent it seemed ok. That may have been the one to show the parent though and all the tentacle porn was on the other episodes.

No just violence, not sex, at least that I can remember. People being eaten alive left and right. Like I said 13 is probably close to the age depending on how sensitive they are to that kind of stuff.

COVID got me back to watching a few series. Demon Slayer is incredible. Really enjoyed My Hero Academia too.

I kid. I watch "Below Deck"

Bagel Girl is Korean anime. The entire series is right here in one video.

It's about a nerdy fat guy who mysteriously one morning wakes up as a hot girl with big boobs. You would expect something like this to be some goofy sex romp, but it's actually a pretty good story. It's a murder mystery believe it or not.

We watched it last night and even my wife, who usually hates anime, really liked it.

I’m half way through Record of Ragnarok, and I feel bad about myself while being reminded why I didn’t watch much anime before.

Family is almost about to finish Naruto. 720 episodes and a few movies. It's taken years of off and on watching.

Now the boy wants to watch One Piece. FML.

Yeah that’s a long one too...maybe should try something shorter for a little change up.

yeah i know. When he first asked I loaded it up on netflix or whatever service it's on. The last episode was first aired a few weeks earlier, season 1 airdate was something like 1999.

You did both Narutos?  Shonen Jump and Shippudden?!? Damn that took me years to crush.  Try Hunter X Hunter, its in good little segments.

Finished last night. Terrible. I hate myself.

One Punch Man season 2 was trying my patience. Not nearly enough Saitama. Plot, if you can call it that, all over the place.
