Didn't Lagway also have shoulder surgery too?  Who's to say that doesn't affect his big arm.

I think there was rumors he may have to have surgery on his shoulder but never did. Missed a bit of spring with the shoulder issue as well that lingered from the season if I recall.

Lagway’s orthopedic surgeon.

The exact words that came out of Aiden Warner's mouth to me before their spring game was that Lagway had an arthoscopic procedure done on his shoulder before spring ball started. What I was told at the time was that he would likely need surgery. That didn't happen. Lagway is made of glass so I expect that he will reinjure it at some point and Aiden will get the starting job again.

Texas plays them their fifth game. They go @LSU, @Miami, BYE before Texas heads to The Swamp. That’s such a gift of a bye week given his injury risk.

For last year’s UF game, the chefs grilled or smoked a 5 foot gator, I don’t remember how it was prepared but it wasn’t fried, and then also served fried gator bites. This is at the buffet for the south end zone suites. I thought it was a funny set up to go with everything else they served. The bites could have really been any kind of chunky white meat. The grilled or smoked stuff was unique and good though.

For some reason the SEC frowns upon us smoking various breeds of cats and dogs when we play half of the conference that apparently utilized a kindergarten popularity contest to pick their mascot.

I laughed. Hey man, smoke all of the beef you want when Texas comes to town. We usually do as well.

I love love love Texas style brisket. If there were one of those "you could only eat one thing the rest of your life" situations it would either be brisket or well seasoned fried chicken.

I've got one of Aaron Franklin's books and I make his rub recipes for all of my smoking, though I admit I have only tackled brisket once myself. I usually take the easy way out with pork butt.

My brother in law is an obnoxious tee-shirt OU fan. He went to UCO or whatever it is up in Edmund but runs his mouth about “Texass” or the “whorns” every chance he gets. He also has an online master’s from Florida. (Incidentally, I came across free tickets to the Miami/Florida game in the swamp in either 07 or 08 - I believe it was the same night a dude got a handjob on a mountainside in El Paso during the Texas/UTEP game out there, but I could be wrong. I was in Gainesville for three days, and that’s three days more than my brother in law has spent on that campus.)

He has gotten real fair-weathered with OU recently and has decided to jump on the Florida bandwagon, so my hatred for both OU and this insufferable ass hole gets transferred to the Gators. GatorMarc, you seem like an upstanding guy, but I kind of hope your whole team gets dysentery the night before our game and we hang triple digits on you.

Your brother-in-law sounds like he sucks.  OU can keep him.

Has there been a program more dependent on a single player than Florida and Lagway? Off the top of my head, you’d have to go back Cam Newton and Auburn.

Really.... I can think of one team off the top of my head whose entire identity and singular successful year is based on a coke sniffin', signature selling fraud.

How many lower leg injuries are ever actually “minor”?

Depends if he plays for the Astros,  if so, a lower leg injury starts as minor and develops in to critical.

Texas with Colt in 2009?

Mike Evans had a coke problem?

That’s a good one. I can’t really think of any recent examples. All of Saban’s Bama teams either had a bus driver QB or a star QB with another star back up. It would have gotten pretty hairy at Clemson without Lawrence, but those were some very complete teams. Ohio State won with a back up QB in 2014. I think Bennett was much better than given credit for at Georgia. There’s a reason he’s still on the Rams. Burrow was a helluva QB, but he had a stacked team around him.

Jameis is a good example. FSU probably wins 7-8 games without him in 2013.

As a TCU alum I believe Stetson is one of the greatest quarterbacks in college football history.  At least that is what I try to tell myself about that game.

I do agree and never understood the love for his predecessor. Perfect example of the bump some get based upon their stature and recruiting profile.

Swamp247 is saying that Lagway will miss at least the first two weeks of practice. Allegedly, he has a calf strain and they don’t want to risk an achilles tear.

I am not on there enough to really know, like basically I might check something with news like this, so basically never, but I think the guys talking about this are insiders, given how they’re being regarded by other posters, and not mods since they don’t have any mod tags. Has this been reported elsewhere? Apparently Napier has an Elko-esque history of being purposely misleading and opaque with injury updates.

Not sure who else are regulars that are also gator fans.

Miami without Cam Ward, CU without Sanders, Clemson without Klubnik. Of those Miami screams to me the most. He was their offense and the Miami D was shit.

Klubnick is still at Clemson.

I'm aware.

So you grouped him with two teams moving on from their qbs last season why?

Jesus.. I was responding to this question regarding Lagway and Florida. For the record Lagway is still at Florida.

Which was followed by this one above.

So I provided 3 recent examples that thought I represented teams that were as heavily reliant upon QBs as Florida is upon Lagway.

2 are no longer there and I expect they will suffer greatly. I am confident nobody would be discussing Clemson were it not for Klubnik.

Try and keep up would you.

I suppose I could phrased it better. Florida can win a national championship with Lagway. Eventually, maybe.

Clemson should contend with Kolache this season. That said, I think they could win their dogshit conference/make the CFP without him.

Miami was never to going win a national championship with Ward. Same with Colorado and Sanders.

I used Cam Newton as an example because he won a national championship.

He didn’t even start last year until Mertz got injured… they won games without him being a factor

They’ve got an experienced OL and defense, and Wilson III and Baugh are pretty good

But yeah zero QB depth behind Lagway

Did you at least get a $20 bud light inspired HJ before she passed out? If not, our brethren out in El Paso have some tips for you.
