I’d be OK with Sean McVay coaching the Longhorns. Unlike posters here, I only speak for myself. Anecdotally, most of the Gators I know don't like Kiffen at all, nevermind as a good fit at UF. I won't pretend to know who the best available coach is, but I keep hearing fans talk about wanting Matt Campbell.

He seems really suited for ISU, but maybe he could kill it in the big time. @Al_4_ISU will be by here shortly to tell you why he’s not a fit at Florida and you guys should just forget about him.

September 8Sep 8 As a gator fan with no actual connection to the school or even the state of Florida I’m questioning my choices
September 8Sep 8 Florida is not one of the jobs I fear RE Campbell. I'm watching what happens with Moore in Ann Arbor much more closely. And hell, at this point if he leaves I'm not going to be that worried. He's developing a deep tree of talented young guys underneath him and he's been in Ames for a decade. He's erased both the idea that the job is purely a stepping stone, and that you can't win here. Especially if he ends up leaveing on the heels of winning the league. But I don't see him thriving at a blue blood/place with national title aspirations for reasons I've laid out many times, and I don't see him leaving for a non-Midwest college job. But if he's ready for a change, he's ready for a change. 10 years is a long time in this profession and this age. Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, and maybe Pedo. Those are the jobs I fear.
September 8Sep 8 You know that game was lost on 2 plays. Lagway drops a perfect pass in the bucket to the receiver and he just fucking drops it like a clown. Then, the other stupid motherfucker spitting in the face of the USF player. Just outstanding stuff, Billy, truly!

September 8Sep 8 1 minute ago, Hard Times said: Campbell is a whiney douche. I certainly wouldn't want him at Texas. Well I've had it with loveable losers & Mullen... The refrain I hear is along the lines of "if he can win at Iowa, he can win here" The Gata is HUNGRY for some competent football corches. A friend was at the game this weekend and had a seat near the visitor section. He said one of the USF fans was calling out the plays the Gata would run and he was almost always right. The whole section would laugh when he got it right. sucks to suck!
September 8Sep 8 Is Golesh getting much run for this? He's actually a former Campbell guy and I was impressed by him in his time at ISU.

I recall a pretty egregious missed hold on the outside on that long play right after the spitting personal foul. But given the 2 plays you mentioned, and the fact that it was still a game at that point to begin with, it kind of felt fitting.

But give us a salty D and an offense that can hang half a hundred and the Gata would be fine with a Peewee coach. But I doubt Stricklin could find his ass with both hands, nevermind a big balled swaggering football genius.

September 8Sep 8 The problem was not the refs or getting unlucky. USF should have been out of the game by half time. Shitty coaching and a shitty offensive scheme cost us the game. They have cost us many games, enough with the what if BS. Fire the coach! We used to be good at that too!
September 8Sep 8 I don't think there's any way Napier survives this year barring an incredible turnaround. You don't lose at home to a directional school in year four.

I have a feeling they are just going to let him finish out 3-9 or whatever and it's adios. Probably DJ glassway will get hurt again at some point and he will have a decent excuse I guess, but they had no excuse like you said for losing that game. 4th and 4 to end it and they punted bunch of pussies.

Lagway looked absolutely pedestrian on Saturday, but I'm sure Bobby and Gerry will still be clinching their assholes over him. He might as well be Tim Tebow wrapped in Cam Newton and Vince Young. They just can't help themselves when it comes to him.

September 8Sep 8 There is a troll post gaining steam that Billy got an extension. What did happen is Stricklin got his extension which means he’s probably clear to fire him if the continue to perform the way they are

September 14Sep 14 I had to look up and see what that guy is doing now and didn't realize that even the Jimmy Johns guy wasn't the shark humper, it was some former NYC cop.

September 15Sep 15 I'm sure it's been covered in this thread but holy hell Gata's schedule is BRUTAL this year. Based on rankings as of today, they play EIGHT games against top 15 opponents. It's almost enough to forgive them for scheduling whatever the fuck Long Island University is.

Saw a stat today that 46% of Napiers games have been against ranked opponents. The next guy is going to get a ridiculous contract to deal with that. LIU was a fill in game because the SEC bridge schedule for this year double booked us and we had FAMU and TAMU the same weekend. Edited September 15Sep 15 by gatormarc
