November 1, 20241 yr Top UF DB Marshall is now out for the year: Marshall was having a great bounce-back season after a disappointing 2023 campaign, and while Florida has other corners they feel okay about, Marshall was far and away their best in 2024. https://hailfloridahail.com/two-key-injuries-leave-florida-football-shorthanded-against-georgia-01jbh8aq7yh8
November 2, 20241 yr Author As I’ve said previously Can’t overlook these Gators next week. DJ running the show I think is going to get the offense going and the defense isn’t absolute shit like last year. fuck jawgia

November 9, 20241 yr I think Napier is a dead man walking. Stricklin almost certainly gets canned after the Todd Golden fiasco. Napier would have no cover at that point, and any new AD is going to want to hire his own guy.
November 9, 20241 yr Author This guy on this 4th down play sums up the Gator fan base right now. Strickland is gone. Short bus Billy gets another year but his seat is at the bottom of the fire burning like a coal. IMG_6031.mov

November 16, 20241 yr Author Damnit LSU is driving I really hope this Gator defense can force another field goal. Brain Kelley is a joke it’s bullshit short bus Billy keeps losing to him

November 25, 20241 yr I can’t recall a team making such a drastic mid-season turn around on the field and on the recruiting trail

November 30, 20241 yr Author Florida has skyrocketed in the recruiting ranks now at 13 flipping guys every couple days now bowl eligible and getting to hopefully stomp Florida state ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR
December 1, 20241 yr Napier might actually have options in terms of bringing in an OC now that he isn't a dead man walking into next season. He'll still probably fuck everything up by continuing to call plays. Edited December 1, 20241 yr by Captain Obvious

December 2, 20241 yr I think Napier is too stubborn to give up playcalling. He would never have even given Lagway a shot if Mertz didn’t get hurt

December 8, 20241 yr Apparently, we're playing in the Gasparilla bowl. I thought we had played ourselves up into the Tier 1 bowl rotation of 6.
December 8, 20241 yr We may have been jumped by Arkansas, but if so, they're playing in Memphis and we're playing in Tampa. I can't complain.
December 8, 20241 yr Well, it's official. vs. Tulane Hopefully the team takes it seriously and isn't annoyed that we were bumped down to a 6-6 bowl and expect to sleepwalk through it. https://floridagators.com/news/2024/12/8/football-gators-headed-to-union-home-mortgage-gasparilla-bowl-for-matchup-against-tulane.aspx Edited December 8, 20241 yr by gatormarc
December 9, 20241 yr So apparently, the Gator Bowl wanted Florida and visa versa but Alabama missing the CFP started a chain reaction. Citrus took USC over Bama and Ole Miss. Bama goes to Reliaquist (Tampa/Outback). Liberty wanted Mizzou or Ole Miss because of proximity but neither wanted Liberty because of stadium construction. SEC overruled Gator and sent Ole Miss there. Gator is unhappy because they don't expect Ole Miss fans to travel. SEC bumped Arkansas up into the Tier 1 group because Liberty wanted a closer team. Florida was satisfied at taking the Gasparilla for easy travel even though it was a step down.

December 23, 20241 yr I guess keeping Billy was the correct thing to doEven before this, I think it’s been obvious that they ended this year with momentum that will carry into next year. As of right now, I’ll consider going 2-1 @ The Shoe, @ The Swamp and @ Between the Hedges would be a success**of course by mid-August I’ll be expecting nothing less than 3-0
February 16Feb 16 Miami swiping key assistant away from in-state rival Florida secondary coach is expected to take a similar role at Miami, per a report. Zach Barnett Feb 13, 2025 Florida secondary coach Will Harris is expected to join Miami's staff, according to a report Thursday from CBS Sports. Harris, 36, spent one season at Florida after coming aboard from the LA Chargers. He spent 2022 as the defensive coordinator at Georgia Southern, and 2018-21 coaching defensive backs at Washington. Washington's 2021 secondary was among the best in the nation, leading the nation in yards and touchdown passes allowed while ranking third in passing efficiency. The former USC defensive back got his start in 2013 as the secondary coach at Northwestern Oklahoma State. He's also tutored secondaries at Humboldt State, Dixie State and San Jose State. He'll join a re-made defensive staff that saw the nation's No. 1 total, per play and scoring offense undone by a defense that could not get off the field. The Hurricanes allowed 25.3 points per game on the season, but 42 apiece in season-ending losses to Syracuse and Iowa State. The former knocked Miami out of the College Football Playoff. Minnesota's Corey Heatherman was hired last month as Miami's new defensive coordinator, and now Mario Cristobal has another key piece as he looks to bring Miami back to the nationally elite.
