In 78-80, one of my many jobs in high school was working for the local furniture store/funeral home.  One day, we had to drive from North Texas (more like southern Oklahoma) to south Texas to pick up

“So what happened?” ”Well, there was a group of us. No more than 15, 20 of us maybe. We were just comparing notes on which Dairy Queen’s are dying, which ones have Texas food items, how many are

Sorry for the closures to all affected. Thoughts and prayers.

For all that are complaining about long wait times, if possible, call ahead.

Many times over the years, when traveling back to Houston after visiting my wife’s parents, we phoned our order in to the Llano DQ when about 5-6 minutes away.

Arrive, make use of the facilities, the food is ready.

Llano DQ has always been good, as long as you beat the church crowd on Sunday.

DQ has always been on the more expensive side than other fast food places at any given time.

That’s a good DQ on Burnet.

That's my "home" DQ.  I used to ride through the drive-thru on my bike.  They'd yell at me but still serve me.

But nothing felt quite as glorious as walking up to that counter with my silver free-sundae token in hand.  Extra hot fudge, please.

I believe that's a flagship Mayfield DQ, so the customer service is noticeably better. I sure hope they're better paid.

Yeah, as an Anderson High alum I was also a frequent  visitor to their Wally's location on Mesa.  Freshmen at Anderson were called "Wally Walkers" as a matter of fact.

DQ in Logansport LA has had cheese curds for at least five years. It’s hard to drive by without getting an order for the trip

The Mayfield DQ in Georgetown is great. Right next to Whataburger too.

It crushes that WB for quality.

DQ vs Whataburger - the epic battle for who can take longer to get you your food.

Went to Wallys for the first time in years a while back and it was mediocre now. Burnet Rd DQ smokes it on quality now.

I used to hit the one on Stassney quite a bit and it was great. And it used to be a better value. I got a the smaller chicken strip basket (not at that location) recently and it was like $12 + tax for not a ton of food.

It looks like pricing varies by location so maybe it's that one in particular that is shafting people.

my bus driver in 4th/5th grade would take us there a couple times a year and get the whole bus a soft serve cone.

It also sponsored my little league team one year; we got a free blizzard after every game. That was a good season.

Got the three taco combo at my local DQ yesterday. An hour later, I thought I’d ate Brisket Texan’s chili! I was cleaned out for the final round of the Masters today.

Hook’em!!!

Monday morning grammar policing:

Either “I ate…”

or

“I had eaten…”

Your choice.

One time I listened to an entire half of a high school football game as I sat in line at the local DQ drive through.

Besmirching my chili will not be tolerated.  I make a mighty fine pot of red, nothing especially gastrointestinally distressing about it.

I don't make Jade's chili, FFS....

Dairy Queen may be dying but here's a bright spot: this 16 year old fry cook rocked this customer that punched his co-worker.

Well hello, Miss Hannah Hayes.

Wallybangers on Mesa is a better DQ than any DQ ever was. Fight me.

No need for a fight, but you may want to take a moment to ponder that Wally's is a DQ, owned by a guy who owns numerous DQs in Austin, serving the same damn food as a DQ, prepared in the same way with the same ingredients.   It's all the same.

Love it that after getting punched in face she jumped on that mother fucking asshole and was choking him out.

That guy should get ten years no parole for that shit.

The former DQ outside of Mexia was converted into a really damned good Italian restaurant.  Frankie's Pizza and Pasta.  I highly recommend.

That really screws up the Aggie joke

Waffle House and Popeyes have contacted DQ in order to aquire the line staff during the next portal availability. In response DQ has franchised the line staff

Can't compromise the integrity of the food.

Then again, an Ohio DQ is much different from the Texas DQs. Almost an entirely different restaurant except for the name, and maybe the Blizzards.

The juxtaposition of her appearance and some of the locals (she, too, is a local) in that video is strking.  Genetics and socioeconomic status has some to do with it, but the the dental care diversity stood out.

Guess which one is Hannah
