Listen, I know you recently matriculated at U of TikTok for your Econ degree, but really, we got this.  You’ll be just fine listening to the appeasing echo in the CR.  I promise, we will be just fine here.

It's cute to paint me with the shortcomings of your peers. I'm not the dude whos quoting tiktok comments as a source or using chatGPT to write for me.

Sorry for bringing the Associated Press to the discussion? Would you prefer the daily stormer or zerohedge or something else instead?

Genuinely don't understand the communist and tiktok attacks aside from some weird lazy and shitty meme that y'all fall back on because you literally can't think of anything else.

Mostly your shit takes, followed by your hatred of profit and capitalism, closely followed by you getting wet for socialism. The encore being your inability to read the fucking room with your habitual CR line stepping.

It's a hatred of greed and withholding profits and earnings from the people actually doing the work, and causing public harm because of refusing to address risk because of the harm if would cause to profits. The crushed rail worker strike followed by the derailment and toxic explosion next to a neighborhood, and then UAW strike is a recent and salient example of what I find so awful. And I'm genuinely not sure where you're getting the socialism shit from aside from hearing incredulity repeating that lie frequently enough and having such a weak mind that you believe it without needing any facts resembling that accusation.

If you take my posts and run them through a tucker carlson GPT a few times you could probably write some tiktok comments that would validate your worldview, but you'd be pretty far from reality. Which just so happens to be where you are now. The """CR line stepping""" you are accusing me of is just your lazy attempt to get mods to protect your safe space where only trickle down economics is allowed to be accepted as fact

Dude, shut the fuck up and go to the cloak room.

Actual markets discussion disappearing like whoa.

My bad for posting an AP article detailing why the government shutdown is happening and causing the markets to fall like woah.

It's super cute to take the actions of the handful of congresspeople who invited and incited the January 6th insurrection and describe our entire government as them. The government shut down is not being instigated by #bothsides.

It's being shut down by the same congress people who tried to interrupt the peaceful transition of power two and a half years ago. To suggest anything else is an outrageous lie and overtly political.

Edit: and it's specifically the HOUSE far right contingent that's doing this. Not the Senate. Literally both sides are trying to pass a budget and are being obstructed by an electorally significant minority of MAGA house republicans that also want to cut aid to Ukraine.

No it’s pretty simple.  This is the stock market thread.  Not the thread for showing us where on the doll Jan 6 touched you.

In actual market talk... Did you folks see the bomb that Jamie Dimon dropped the other day?

Quote

...
In fact, Dimon said in an interview with The Times of India that the Fed's key borrowing rate could rise significantly from its current targeted range of 5.25%-5.5%. He said that when the Fed raised the rate from near zero to 2%, it was "almost no move," while the increase from there to the current range merely "caught some people off guard."

"I am not sure if the world is prepared for 7%," he said, according to a transcript of the interview. "I ask people in business, 'Are you prepared for something like 7%?' The worst case is 7% with stagflation. If they are going to have lower volumes and higher rates, there will be stress in the system. We urge our clients to be prepared for that kind of stress."

Jamie Dimon is the king of coming out with dire predictions... and then being wrong. One day he will be completely right, until then...

June 1, 2022:

"JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon says he is preparing the biggest U.S. bank for an economic hurricane on the horizon and advised investors to do the same.

“You know, I said there’s storm clouds but I’m going to change it … it’s a hurricane,” Dimon said Wednesday at a financial conference in New York. While conditions seem “fine” at the moment, nobody knows if the hurricane is “a minor one or Superstorm Sandy,” he added.

“You’d better brace yourself,” Dimon told the roomful of analysts and investors. “JPMorgan is bracing ourselves and we’re going to be very conservative with our balance sheet.”

Lag here in the policy, but real question do people think it wouldve been prudent for powell and co to have hiked rates going into a pandemic with nationwide shutdowns?

Pick your poison. In hind sight the fed should have started raising rates in the middle of 2021. Supply chain issues at the time exacerbated the problem and ruined the word "transitory".

their response had a 1-2 year lag (depending on which impulse to measure), which i think is reasonable given the uncertainty nature of the shutdown.  21H2 wouldve been a local minima in all the covid metrics, but i dont think most of the mandates relaxed to signal full back-to-normal activities

they also had to drive this fucker down

Yeah the sucking sound right now is getting louder.  Between rates, shutdown, and price pressure it’s a perfect shitstorm coming.

I also think he is a douchebag, but he is connected with folks at the Federal Reserve and PPT.  His comments, which I posted previously, are likely informed by his reading of the pulse of the Fed.  I suspect the Fed is serious about raising rates higher than the market currently expects.

I think not even in hindsight, it's universally accepted that they should have raised rates sooner. As in even on this board I think everyone was wondering what the hell they were doing waiting so long.

I see BRK.B reacting to a downgrade; or being downgraded due to someone thinking they can't manage the market turmoil.
So is the correct response:
a) move from team Uncle Warren and find a better place for my money
b) load up on Warren and his crazy buddy Charlie
c) sit back and watch the world burn

obv, asking for a friend

I want to change my question -
A) did it leak somewhere that Warren is sick
B) was there a car accident with Warren and Chuck (and their driver - good god I hope they are not driving cars)
C) was Omaha hit with an earthquake/tornado/nuke?
