Behold, the fee market!

The US official said Nvidia agreed to share 15 per cent of the revenues from H20 chip sales in China and AMD would provide the same percentage from MI308 chip revenues. Two people familiar with the arrangement said the Trump administration had not yet determined how to use the money.

The Financial Times reported that the commerce department started issuing H20 export licences on Friday, two days after Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang met President Donald Trump. The US official said the administration had also started issuing licences for AMD’s China chip.

The quid pro quo arrangement is unprecedented. According to export control experts, no US company has ever agreed to pay a portion of their revenues to obtain export licences.

But the deal fits a pattern in the Trump administration where the president urges companies to take measures, such as domestic investments, for example, to prevent the imposition of tariffs in an effort to bring in jobs and revenue to America

More fucking bullshit from this fucking cunt.

Lulz I can't wait to see chickensandwich whipsaw into a full throated support of state capitalism and revenue skimming

opening a new market for them (and AMD). it's really bad policy but the 15% royalty opens up China to US AI chip makers then here comes billions...

I appreciate the optimism but that'll never happen under the fascist thumb.

I’ve dipped the toes into cannabis ETFs twice, got burned once and the other time stayed flat- MSOS and YOLO.

Erbody happy that J-Pow hinted that he did not rule out a rate cut.

I would bet a beer that when the September 11 CPI report comes out it will give enough data that J-Pow will see the Market expecting to kick a winning field goal and instead go IMG_5104.gif.c51c78f0d2bef830b295a0cf1b6b70d3.gif

“due to concerning reduced employment  data - and increasing tariff-related inflationary pressure -  it is prudent to stay the present course and not to reduce rates at this time” the following week.

JPow setting up the dotard for the ultimate rug pull.  It will be hilarious.

I think Dotard gets a rate cut before the EOY. not a fan by any means but goddamn is he one of the most-effective bullies out there. mf really just gets what he wants

No, the Fed has become politicized. The cut is happening whether it should happen or not.

So - if we have a shitty August jobs report September 5, then we do a small rate cut to help the jobs numbers, so when the next month or two inflation from tariffs catches up with us, we raise rates again?

If Trump has his people they can get rich timing the good and bad news. Not that he would ever do that.

My guess is two cuts happen and about May next year we all are bitching about 4% inflation.

next May the new Fed Czar will fix all problems, haven't you heard?

If inflation is only 4% next May after 15%to 20% tariffs have started kicking in for reals - that would far exceed my wildest positive expectation.

All we can do is stay on Mr. Choad’s Wild Ride and post on surly.

She's not been charged with anything, much less convicted. Not that due process means anything anymore.

the whole god damn website doesn't need to be TDS 24x7

Guys I’m not a repeat offender here and I wish he didn’t, but the fact is that this president happens to have a pretty enormous real time impact on the Fed and the markets, moreso than any president since 1974. That’s not a deranged statement.
Sorry if that makes your nethers feel sandy.

Never change, you beautiful bastards. I know you couldn't if you tried

What is really incredible is the sensitivity regarding folks invoking the name of the person who is without precedent, and without the rule of law, is trying to fundamentally make  the Fed a puppet institution to do his bidding.  Pointing out that what the President deems a fireable offense at the Fed, is indeed what Texas' own lead law enforcement officer has done as well?  IS simply pointing out that Trump's moves are not principled, they are inserting a level of politics into a formally non-partisan and independent Fed.

The good news is I got washed out of my PLTR, even with my super loose stops.  So not at all worried that things that are not the least bit normal regarding the Fed and our financial markets have now been absorbed as normalized.  Pretty damn hard to have a discussion about the markets without bringing in a mention of the main player.  But right now everyone is on board.  this thread should not exist!  As markets are not falling.  Lately they rise on even bad news.  Inflation is coming but it is coming on gradually.  What will be fascinating is to see if the 30 year moves towards 5% with the predicted September rate cut?  Or do the CPI numbers come in hot?

More importantly if Inflation numbers do ease upwards on the CPI? Who can be fired to try and change that inflation number to something our President likes?   That's not political in the least.  It's what happened the last time he didn't like the fact he was not producing many jobs... So that's just normal now. right?

It's pretty simple to me.  Talk about impact of Trump firing Fed on markets?  100% valid for this thread and expected.   Debating validity/legality of Trump firing fed inevitably leading to fucking Epstein talk?  Cloak Room.   I don't disagree it's a slippery slope (and I've gotten caught up in it myself on DT) but we've all seen how the fucking Cloak Roomers can't help go full blown politics once it gets started and then the thread completely jumps the shark, so would be nice to try to keep on subject and debate the merits/politics in the threads where that debate is no doubt taking place.

Well, it's not a debate if it's legal or not - it isn't. You're excusing his dictatorial actions and insisting that anyone who takes issue with them is deranged with a mental condition. So yeah, you're gonna keep getting that bucket of cold water that "maybe we shouldn't let a pedophile unilaterally declare what is and isn't legal"
