Really happy for Dickson. Hopefully he adds to the Texas kicker reputation in the NFL.

program is a dumpster fire and coaches are douche but still should have stayed to mature.

  • Hey don't knock it. That strategy will get them to the Texas Bowl.

Not as bad a year as you are having on Surly.

Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!

Seahawks just got the best defensive player in the draft this year.

NFLN:

DJ: He was the MVP of the Texas Bowl?

Eisen: You bet he was!

DJ: What happened in that game?

Go watch it, DJ.

Seattle has another 5th... they should take Hill if he's there. Elliot would be a decent pick as well, but Hill is crazy value at this point.

in the past 10 minutes seattle upgraded their special teams in a major way.

Heh, good for Dicko.  Still, as awesome as he is, I can't stop thinking it's pretty telling of your offense when one of your few draftees is the punter.

Would have thought he’d been gone already.

Back to back corners who ESPN didn't even have basic profiles set up for.  WTF?  Hill smoked weed... he didn't molest a child.  There is no fucking way he should still be on the board with his talent.  At this point, the reward WAY surpasses the risk.

Awesome for Dicko!

The draft results aren't that surprising to me.  It was obvious when they declared that Malik and Connor were not as highly regarded as once thought, but they both still made out fine.  Elliott should have never declared, there was absolutely no evidence that anyone was considering him a top prospect.  Another season like 2017 would have probably catapulted him into a higher round though.  Oh well, hope the younger guys realize that one good year in the Big 12 will not make you a highly rated prospect.  And Hill is dropping because of character concerns, but there's no way he makes it through another year in school, so he probably made the right decision.

One more thought: our conference is toxic to our program's perception.  This is something that seriously needs to be on CDC's radar.

Yeah! They aren't tucking around with their picks today. Jealous! Dicko and Griffin! Damn!

Maybe Seattle should send them the tape of Super Bowl 48 if they want a real laugh.....

Jokes on you, dumbfucks!

Dudes like omenihu and Boyd are probably thanking their lucky stars they didn’t declare early like their idiot friends still on the board.

I mean jesus, seriously. Did Herman et al not try to tell them this is what would happen?

So where do we stand?  Williams, Jefferson, and Dickson?  That's it as of now?

Yup. Hill and Elliot (and Ford and Warren) still on the board

DBs going off the board left and right. I think Poona will be drafted and that will be the last Longhorn.

Elliott and his agent are going to be regretting the sunglasses at night and that diamond necklace he was wearing at the Spring game.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.  Poona about a 60% chance from here out, the rest, free agency holla!

Yep.  And I look at it like this.  I’d ask a GM if they’d want a player that can get you an extra 30-40 yards of field position in every game.  And then where in the draft they think they’d select that player.

I bet Josh Rosen didn't laugh.  Field just got longer twice a year.

Edit:  Dude was about to drop that SMU cheerleader.  And then someone just got med carted off.  ESPN shot is at least interesting at the moment.

Not by % of total plays.

And it may be getting cut down even more by future rules.

Isn't Denver's regular season game vs Seattle? I hope dicko lights them up like a pinball machine. They won't be laughing then.

Punting still matters.  Unless you play for Mike Leach of cours.

Most of the rule changes being bantered around revolve around kickoffs.... but yea, ST's is a dying part of the game.

Dickson is a 20 year player and the best punter in the game. He makes a defense better. He is far more valuable that a 5th round project who will be out of the league in 1 to 3 years. Dipshits.

Anyone in the NFL laughing at the Dicko pick will regret it when he consistently pins their offense inside the 20, or even 10 if the punt team gunners take their jobs seriously.

Ya, it seems like it really hurt Mayfield and Rudolph and Washington and Malik and Connor and .....

Something I've always wondered-during the NBA draft there are loads of trades involving players that have already been drafted earlier in the draft, why does that rarely happen in the NFL draft?

Glad Okoronkwo is gone. That dude was annoying

Free agency is a much bigger deal than the draft typically with tiny rosters and huge salary caps, plus they value draft picks much differently. Lottery picks are the only ones worth a shit historically, and they also have the ability to structure trades much differently such as paying cash to offset player value etc.

A legit punter is worth infinitely more than some rando 5-round reach w/ "potential" that inevitably flames out.  The guy who is going to be a HoF punter?  Yeah, that's a steal in the 5th round.

The Seahawks may have a crazy Truther as a HC, but they're making smart moves in the draft.

Holy cow when I watched them play BC NC State didn't look thaaat dominant

7 draft picks off of a roster that only had 4 underclassmen starters. Dave Doeren should get an award for going 9-4 with that team.

3 punters and a kicker taken before Holton Hill.

Take school seriously and stay off the drugs until you're done making money at a place that drug tests.

Have a feeling Herman will use this year as a cautionary tale for when guys get bad advice and want to come out early. Poona is really the only one left I give a shit about.
