Thanks for the memories Sam. Don't blame you for leaving the Turtle Tom Shit Show. Go get that NFL money!

God for him. He doesn’t need to get injured or let his draft stock be negatively impacted with a shitty team and coach

Any confirmation here or is this speculative at this point? Anwar doesn't know shit.

The Dallas Morning News, USA Today, BON, and the usual suspects are running with the story.

That, and he arguably has more to prove.  He was invisible thanks to Orlando.

I’m trying hard to give a shit either way but nope, nothing.

After the game, Cosmi stopped at the tunnel, turned around and just stared at the east stands for a couple minutes.   J O walked over (looked like he was crying his eyes out) and Cosmi hugged him for about 30 seconds.  Not sure what they talked about but it would t surprise me if they had both played their last game at Texas.

The only left for him was an injury and another Alamo/Texas bowl game he's already played in doesn't matter.

Rest, rehab and recover from injuries, strength and related training to optimize combine performance.

In the late 60s, you went to grad school.

Given Texas's present OL and S&C situations, you hire experts to help with technique, speed, agility, etc.  Plus, you have ZERO chance of getting hurt by opting out of KSU, KU, and whatever 3rd tier bowl Texas plays in.

What a coincidence, I decided to opt out as well! Maybe me and Sam can kick it with beer Saturday watching the small handful of teams still treating this like a real season.

How does one prepare for a draft?

By:

A. Not getting hurt playing in any more football games.

B. Immediately working with an OL guru on combine drills etc...

E'erbody opting out for rest of the season whether they're playing or watching.

Hell, we've already played the same game every week since the fool's gold of UTEP.

And I'm usually one of the optimists.

Well for starters, he needs to draft his résumé.

Thanks for describing a moving moment. Pos rep.

In all likelihood, the Kansas game will  be called off. That means he is opting out most likely for just the Kansas State game. And if our players let their guards down, Saturday’s game is  no guarantee. Now that the season’s objectives are all but ruled out and Herman is a dead man walking,  I will not be surprised at all with any scenario between both games being played and no games being played.

You can call it opting out. I’m still going to call it quitting.

The bowls are gonna be filled with walk-ons.

I would love for Tom to get a one on one visit with Mike.

With a very clean glass...

Meh. Nothing in the scholarship these guys signed said anything about a global pandemic and everything they’d have to deal with this year to give us a few months of free entertainment. Cut them some slack at least for a year.

First you make a roux.

Second you put on a shawl.

The team has had enough of Herman. Sam hates his guts and Cosmi isn't risking his future for some third tier bowl against a shitty 5-5 ACC team in the Camping World bowl.

How much better was Cosmi than Williams at left tackle? They both didn't give up sacks and we could run behind either one.

First or second round pick. Your bullshit is VERY weak.

Well we have 2 regular season games left and I’d be surprised if bowl games weren’t played for revenue purposes.

The Kansas game is not happening

Hopefully a lot better. Williams absolutely gets his ass handed to him every week now

Dude is not quitting, he's setting himself up for the next phase of his life. Wtf? Yes, Sam, play these two meaningless games so you can maybe have a freak injury and risk signing a possible life changing contract for our entertainment against a team no one gives a shit about.

I'm sure it keeps Cosmi up at night that a bunch of miserable old Hank Hill baby boomers on a message board think he's not pulling himself up by his bootstraps hard enough.

Smart decision young man. Nobody that matters will hold it against you. In fact, it speaks to his decision making. Herman and his staff have failed every single player at The University. It's the right decision for the guys entering the draft to cut bait and do what's best for their future. Wash the Herman stink off of them prior to the combine and interviews as much as possible.

Thanks for your time on the 40. Best of luck in the league.

with Friday's loss, there's no reason for any of the NFL-hopeful seniors to play another minute

This is what you get when you shuffle the conferences around and Texas closes its season-- any season, really, where a playoff bid isn't at stake, not just this COVID-panic truncated season-- with Kansas State and Kansas, and then a bid to one of three dozen irrelevant bowl games. We're not closing with a bitter rival, we're not trying to accomplish a season-long goal and get into the Cotton Bowl.

pretty fucking harsh considering all of us now that the season is over.

and lets be honest here, even assuming he spends the money like a drunken sailor, theres a damn good chance Cosmi gets drafted top 2 rounds, and most Olinemen get 3+ years to develope on an NFL team.   even if he ends up being an NFL bust he gets anywhere from $1.4M-3.1M in signing bonus and a 4 year contract worth a total of about $6-7M....  and you are giving the guy shit for leaving the team after we can no longer even fucking play in the Conf Champ game?

There isnt a single one of you fucks who wouldnt protect yourself from missing out on $6M in the next 4 years once its clear your coach and your team failed this year.
