This is a Region IV epidemic. A couple of players from San Antonio Jay did this about 5 years ago.

Any video of the SA John Jay incident? I didn’t find one in my quick search.

That's a weird and uncalled for response. Nothing in the post he replied to sounded sarcastic or joking at all. Lower the emotions bro

Sorry, Bob. He made several clown posts this evening. I’d seen enough. Back to my corner.

So apparently this kid was also a star soccer player that got kicked off the team last year for a fight during a game.

This was my first thought here. This outrageous behavior can't be the first time that this kid's done something like this.

No tolerance for this this behavior. Whatever punishment he receives must include an evaluation for behavioral disturbances. He's a big kid clearly out of control who has the potential to really hurt people, including himself, going forward. Society and he will benefit from getting a lot of resources directed to him now before even worse things happened.

Could have used him in TCU and OU this year when the refs fucked Texas

Listen for it. It's very clear on the video right when the ref hits the turf at ~27 seconds. Kind of funny even if the rest of the story is terrible.

The local news here in Houston just showed the offending play. The actual hit happened just off screen, but the play itself didn't seem all that bad. He was chasing the QB and took one too many steps.

Where the kid screwed up was that after the first flag he got in the refs face and started arguing the call. Can't tell but he might have touched the referee while he was arguing. That was the personal foul and definitely worthy of ejection.

The play is at 1:10:20. This is the reverse angle and the QB hit is offscreen as well at the very end. Not very illuminating. That's what you get when you only have one camera.

You barely catch the kid running back on the field before the camera pans away and then they quickly go to commercial when they see what's happening.

"And.... we'll be back."

We should offer that kid when he gets out of jail just to let B12 refs know we're tired of their shit and he's watching.

Defensive holding on Poona Ford.  Send in Emmanuel

Cue the kid to come out and say the ref called him something racist.

Doesn't interracial name calling get a pass?

Do you even woke bro? That kinda thinking is done. This kid could have the ref apologizing to him in no time.

From the clip, that didn't appear to be roughing bc of a late hit. Maybe the DT went hands to the face? Or whipped him to the ground aggressively? Hard to tell from this angle.

Likely not the last time the kid will take a walk like this, I really do hope he gets some help because otherwise...

It also wasn't his first roughing the passer in the game. Apparently already had words with ref after that one.

If he's not a senior, transfer to Mt. Vernon?

The ref wasn’t a female, Briles has no interest.

Is Edinburg named after Edinburgh because they look nothing alike?

One if not both of the schools was likely shooting an end zone angle which would probably show whatever happened a lot better

Most 6A schools shoot from a scope in the EZ, too, but I doubt anyone will share that angle on HUDL

old Duron Duron couldn't help it.  it was just The Reflex reaction.

And on top of everything else, he blindsided the ref, who had maybe 0.7 sec to prepare for the hit.  A dozen injury lawyers were prolly following the ref to the ER, and two dozen civil rights lawyers following cabron #88 to his house.  Please, God, don't let #88 come to Alabama.  Nick will make a special rehab case out of him, along with Jim Harbaugh and who knows who.  This looks like bad roid rage.

¿Cómo es este un caso de derechos civiles cuando un hispano punk ataca a otro hispano? Suena como una cartelera de peso mediano de antaño: Duron vs García

Jesus, that's disgusting.  Kid should be expelled and probably sent to jail.

Do you have any knowledge of who came to the RGV area back when?  Spoiler alert-Rommel is from Harlingen.  But not THAT Harlingen.

Lol, he had 102 tackles and 8 sacks in 4 games this year. Yeah they might miss him a little bit next week.

No one else is going to question this stat line?  102 tackles?

Quote

In 1908, John Closner, William Briggs, Argyle McAllen, Plutarco de la Viña and Dennis B. Chapin developed a new community at this site. The town square was located at the current crossroads of U.S. Highway 281 and State Highway 107. The town was named "Chapin" in honor of one of the developers. A local myth relates that Edinburg became the county seat of Hidalgo County in a dramatic, nighttime covert operation in which the county records were removed from the previous county seat. However, historical records show more practical reasons. The original Hidalgo County Courthouse in the city of Hidalgo was under frequent danger of flooding because of the town's proximity to the Rio Grande, which sometimes encroached on the building. Additionally, Texas law required that the courthouse be close to the geographic center of the county.[9] When Dennis Chapin was involved in the shooting death of Oscar J. Rountree at the Dan Breen Saloon in San Antonio,[10] the community changed its name to "Edinburg" to honor John Young, a prominent businessman who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. The town was officially named in 1911 and incorporated

I don’t know anything about his stat line but this Edinburg  kid reminds me of a football player in Thorton Mellon’s high school football district growing up.  After he sacked the quarterback, he went after his family.

Correct.  Edinburg High is the original high school and many of the natives who still live there are Edinburg High grads.  Their glory days were diminished somewhat once North and the other two opened, but man they had some very good teams in the late 70's and 80's.  I think they gave Judson fits a few times if I recall?

His actions are inexcusable and he need to be severely punished.  Having said that, this reporting is like any shooting where the gun is called an assault rifle regardless of the weapon used.  “Body-slams”?.... ugh, no.  Tackles, shoulder checks, yes.  I guess that makes a better headline even if not true.
